A nice and quite place to stay in Garching

Located 10 minute walk to city center of Garching and the U-bahn station, this hidden bed & breakfast was a nice place to stay. For those who don't want to walk, two-stop bus ride will take to Garching center. Great breakfast, free wifi and parking. It was quiet because it is not on the main road and situated in a residential area. This is not a hotel, but rather serviced apartment complex, our apartment has a fully furnished kitchenette and terrace. Daily housekeeping was nice, with gummy bears at your arrival on the bed. One thing to consider - Park Residence does not have online booking system and only few information on their website on rooms or rates, so booking has to be done on the phone or by email only.

In the end, price performance does not quite fit

Well, I'm kind of torn, but in turn. At first I didn't find the hotel. This was mainly because I imagined something different under Park Residence. This is a normal apartment building that has been converted into apartments, but then has the charm of an assembly booth. Parking behind the house is fortunately plentiful and free, in front of the house even with electric charging station. The rooms are large, in my case even with a small kitchenette. So far everything clean and Ok, though very soberly decorated. Breakfast is manageable, one type of rolls, packaged stuff, one type of cheese, 2 types of sausage, coffee, juice. Not great, but keeps alive. At 89 € a night I was already a bit harder, I have already lived in the region cheaper and better. In the end, however, I was already annoyed that suddenly the breakfast was recalculated at 10 € per day, even though I had explicitly stated at HRS with breakfast. €99 per night is definitely above that. So in the end, price performance does not fit.

Great and super helpful hosts!

This place is a no frills kind of place. Last minute, we decided to head over to Munich for a day of Oktoberfest while in Europe and this was one of the few places available. The hosts are super helpful and kind. Breakfast is served downstairs and there is a vending machine with beer that's available 24/7. Beds were comfortable - it's just an older no frills kind of place, but fine to crash for a night or two. About a mile walk to the train station and restaurants - great choices of bakeries, restaurants within walking distance and a gas station store around the corner for your basics.

Useful clean place in a quiet surrounding

Roughly 10-15 min walk from the Garching Subway Station Nr.6 the little hotel offers quiet and clean rooms. The building former was a house so the rooms remind more to actually rooms in family houses. My room was fully equipped (TV, Fridge....) and the free Wifi worked ok. The breakfast offered the basics.

Comfortable and convenient

This residence is ideal for extended stays. It functions not like a hotel, but more like an apartment complex, with the manager present or at least a phone call away. I arrived on a sunday, and the manager was not there, but the intercom connects to his cellphone, and he buzzed me in. My room was in essence a studio apartment, with a sofa, a desk, and a small kitchen. It was quite spacious. Breakfast is included, and there is room service every day (only basic… they replace the linens and towels only once every few days, and they don't wash the dirty dishes that you may leave in the sink). Paid wireless internet is available. Garching is a bit sleepy, as a town, but well connected to Munich via the subway, with the nearest stop being at walking distance. The staff of the Park Residence is friendly and helpful. Twice I forgot my purse in the dining room, and immediately they came to find me to return it. Overall, I really recommend this place. I can only think of two very minor negatives that I have experienced there. One is that the cleaning staff is somewhat overzealous.. one of them entered my room at 7:45 am without knocking, and another knocked at my door around 9 am, asking when I was going to leave the room. The other small negative is that the buffet breakfast items tend to run out and are not replaced. However, once I inquired, and the food I was looking for was replaced immediately.
