Happy with our stay.
I wanted to stay in Pfekos for one night, mainly to use a swimming pool with steps and the Coliseum was by far the cheapest option.
The room: Exactly as the photos on the booking site showed. Clean and comfortable and it was nice and quiet.
The Pool: Very clean, much cleaner than the one at the hotel we were staying at. The only grumble was the handrail didn't go all the way to the top.
Plenty of Sun Loungers.
The Staff: Absolutely fabulous, so friendly and helpful.
The Pool Bar: Reasonable price for drinks and food. The food was much better quality than you would expect from a Pool Bar ( no disrespect). You could tell it was prepared by a proper trained Chef. Lunch was perfect.
We paid for breakfast in the room rate and were not dissapointed. Fantastic value, and highly recommended.
One other thing to mention, I loved the music played at the Bar, it was the soundtrack of my youth. I was very happy.

Avoid this hotel, until the owner retires and his son takes over.
This was, without a doubt, the worst hotel experience I’ve had in my many visits to Pefkos.
The room was in a very poor state. The knives, forks and kettle all had visible rust, making them feel unusable. The bathroom was extremely dated, with peeling paint on the shower floor, no main bathroom light (only the mirror light), and a toilet seat that constantly moved. The bed linen was heavily bobbled and looked years old, while the pillows were incredibly uncomfortable.
I have never seen so many cockroaches during any of my trips to Pefkos, which made the stay even more unpleasant.
The biggest issue, however, was the owner. As a young woman travelling, I found his manner verbally aggressive, intimidating and deeply unprofessional. We ended up having a verbal altercation during which he repeatedly raised his voice and swore at me multiple times. His behaviour left me feeling genuinely uncomfortable and unsafe. Even his son apologised to us the following day and said he was tired of having to apologise for problems caused by his father, which speaks volumes.
The air conditioning cost €120 for one week, which I felt was excessive. We were also told there would be an additional 13.5% charge if we paid by card rather than cash because, according to the owner, this was to cover the tax he would have to pay. This made me feel extremely uncomfortable.
Housekeeping was virtually non-existent. We were given one towel for the entire week, the bedding was never changed, and the room was not cleaned throughout our stay.
Overall, this hotel was extremely disappointing. Between the poor condition of the room, the lack of cleanliness and housekeeping, the number of cockroaches, and the owner’s behaviour, this was an experience I would never repeat. You couldn’t pay me to stay here again, and I would strongly recommend booking somewhere else if you want to enjoy your holiday.

Nice relaxed and peaceful place to stay
The owners/managers are onsite everyday and are happy to spend time chatting. It's a very social atmosphere with everything taking place in the snack bar which is right next to the pool. There is a cleaner on-site most days to clean vacated rooms and the site is maintained very nicely. Being totally self catering, room cleanliness is down to the occupants, the cleaner will only go into the room once a week.
The pool is big enough to not be overcrowded. Breakables are not allowed around the pool area, understandably, however any drinks served by the snack bar so be in appropriate containers
Nothing to do with this property specifically, but people should be aware that the tap water on Rhodes is not safe to drink. You can however buy 6 litres of bottled from the snack bar for 3€.
Shops and restaurants are within easy walking distance. There are plenty of ATMs in close proximity however during check-in we were told to use the only one in town provided by a bank because their access fee was much less than the other atms.
Had a great stay at Coliseum Studios & Apartments and would definitely stay there again!

A Grand Day Out
Did not stay at the Coliseum only used the pool, you could not wish for a more enjoyable experience than a day by their pool.
Loads of sun beds and space between them, not jammed in like sardine, very clean pool area and the pool was. crystal clear and a perfect temprature.
Had lunch both days, wow great food and resonably priced, the staff were so friendly and help full
The music they played could have come from my phones playlist. The new owners took it over 2025, they have done a remarkable job getting it to a better standard than it was, I truely hope their work continues to make it evn more remarkable, hope to stay there in 2028.

Family-run resort that is a home from home.
A true home from home....
Paul, Diane, Nico, Diego, Matty and Linda (sorry if I've forgotten anyone) truly made it a memorable stay...
They take their time to get to know you, find out about you and try to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
I have never felt more welcome than I have here... the laughs, the jokes, the banter.... smiling now as i write this review..
The rooms are basic but comfortable and everything that you need is there...
The pool is amazing and its nice that you don't have to get up at 5am to reserve a sunbed...
Everyone here, including all the other residents are so friendly....we have laughed constantly since we arrived.
Please try the local draught cider served at the poolside bar.... even if you are not a cider drinker, you will be converted...
Also try the food, the breakfast hash bowls are amazing.....
A true gem of a resort and one that we will return to as soon as we can.
