Upgraded to a Private Room :)

Excellent service for my booking at least. I was checked-in efficiently and issued a twin room ensuite with soap and a towel included, and this was issued irrespective of the sub $10 dormitory I booked. I'm assuming this is because of low season and the comparable quietness of Aguas Calientes at the time. Nonetheless such service is always appreciated. The WiFi was decent, and the bedroom and bathroom clean. There were also two lockers in the room. The shower water was cold though and after I checked-in I didn't see any staff again, so not great from an emergency or security perspective. That said, given the price paid, and that breakfast was included (though I didn't try it), I can recommend this place for the value, 110%.

Good and affordable service

This hostel is located in a cross street, at the not-so-touristic half of town (meaning: there are more affordable restaurant options around it), with a very simple entrance.
They prepare a simple breakfast to-go for those leaving very early in the morning.
The room we booked had no hot water at night, which wasn't so bad anyways.
The room was clean, with free towel and toiletries, and comfy and warm beds.
Advise: booking directly at reception will save you some money.

Lady very kind!!!

The owner of the hostel is very kind, she accomanied us in a cheap restaurant and she prepared for us a take-away breakfast for Machu Picchiu. She gave us the possibility to rest in our room (check out already done) after the trip. Rooms are clean and warm. Very good!

Mixed Feelings

I stayed with some friends here before hiking Machu Picchu the following day. The best way to do this would be pros and cons list
Pros:
1. The staff was absolutely incredible. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating.
2. The location is perfect. About 10 to 15 minutes from everything you need to see in aguas calientes.
3. We had rented 2 rooms, one room had very hot showers and the other one was freezing. So take a gamble on that one.
Cons:
1. It's right above an incredibly noisy street. If you're a light sleeper don't expect to get any sleep. Like none. At all. Zero.
2. In one of our rooms, the ceiling was COVERED in black mold. Some of it had even been painted over.
So overall we had mixed feelings. We stayed the night but probably wouldn't stay again.

Good Overnight Option for Machu Picchu

We stayed for one night while visiting Machu Picchu. We hadn't booked anything ahead of time, so we just showed up. Basic, clean hotel with hot water and breakfast. We had no problem with being overcharged for anything, and the lady was extremely helpful and friendly. We were allowed to keep our bags there for the day after we checked out as well, while we visited Machu Picchu.
