Pleasant stay
We had a pleasant stay at the charming Hotel Borj Dhiafa in Sfax.
A well-maintained and clean hotel, with magnificent architecture that gives it a lot of character and authenticity.
✨ The rooms are comfortable and well-equipped, and the staff is responsive, available, and attentive to requests.
We would also like to warmly thank all the staff for their welcome and attention during our stay, with a special mention for three people who particularly contributed to making our experience pleasant:
Housem, the parking security guard, who represents the very first image and the first welcome of the hotel. Always very welcoming, smiling, and warm, he immediately gives an excellent impression upon arrival.
Jamel, the bellhop, always helpful, available, and smiling when we crossed paths with him. A real kindness that is a pleasure!
Mohamed Ali, at the front desk, for his professionalism and efficiency. Always attentive, he responds quickly to every request and, above all, he is the kind of person who makes you want to stay and return. A real sense of service!
Minor drawback: despite the charm of the establishment, the hotel seems a bit aging and would deserve a little refresh, while maintaining its authenticity and character.
In our opinion, the experience corresponds more to a very good hotel, the Wi-Fi is a little bit complicated. Access is really difficult, and sometimes you have to ask for it several times during the day. For an establishment of this standing, it is clearly a point to improve.
Summary: a great address, pleasant and full of charm, with top-notch staff. Delighted to know that the establishment accepts small pets, so it is a pet-friendly hotel, which makes us want to return with them.
Some improvements would, however, allow the hotel to be fully up to the standard of a 5-star, like the edge of the pool which hurts a lot...

A beautiful, authentic place
The kindness of the staff, the quality of the meals, and the well-kept setting delighted our stay. Beautiful pool, well-equipped gym, bar, restaurant, … everything there is of high quality.

Too bad
The cleaning is done with express speed, way too many cockroaches in the room, for two people one bath mat and one large towel, we have to ask, yet it is basic, we are two in a double room.
The bar menu with exorbitant prices, a pool with non-existent equipment and unsanitary conditions, the Wi-Fi does not work well.
The staff is really kind, the price of the overnight stay is quite high and absolutely not deserved.
We asked if we could come back to stay with our pet, which is very small and does not even weigh 2 and a half kilos, we were refused, that is a shame, because we were used to coming to Sfax at the Radisson and we wanted a change, we will go back with our pet to the Radisson Sfax, very sad, because the architecture is really beautiful.
It is a shame that in 2026 mentalities and hotels do not improve and remain stuck in backward methods and do not evolve.
And to think that it is supposedly a 5-star hotel....
