Clean and comfortable Accor Mantra hotel

This hotel is clean and comfortable enough as a hotel which doesn't offer suites with kitchenette facilities. Whilst the room was small at 18sqm it has full length windows and a glass door opening onto a small Juliette balcony fitted with one small table and chair.
It is well located away from the city CBD, no real construction noise, no heavy traffic noise and a couple of blocks north of Central Train Station so one can walk to it from the Airtrain towing luggage.
The only disadvantage for this traveller is the sheer lack of restaurants in the immediate vicinity to purchase takeaway dinner. There are a number of small cafes next door and across the road in Astor Terrace open for breakfast and lunch but they all close after the lunch service. The option is to buy a hot takeaway dinner in the city and walk back to the hotel with it.

Disappointed to find out after I'd checked out that I had been charged for use of the gym which I had not used. Still waiting for hotel to get back to me.

The rooms are on the small side but we found it to be perfectly adequate for our short stay. The bed and pillows were clean and comfortable . We had a small issue of an incorrect room type at check in but it was sorted out very quickly by the young man on reception. The hotel is very conveniently located to the city and central station. TIP..if you arrive by train take the Wickham Terrace exit....stairs or lift available...cross over towards the small shopping arcade and follow the 'access to Astor Ave/ The terrace' sign (walking through the arcade) and it will take you very close to the Mantra hotel. Sooo much easier than dragging luggage up the hill to Edward st.

The room wasn't great as it had a bad smell. It had no windows that could be opened and no other ventilation. Disappointed with my stay here.

Absolutely Terrible

Has to be just about the worst hotel we have ever stayed in.
Parking is completely unclear as is check in. Parking is also paid.
The room was underwhelming and despite advertising the location isn't particularly convenient. Had several taxis refuse to take us home from Suncorp Stadium due to road closures that are standard for football events.
Paid for breakfast, for a completely flat toasted croissant, inedible fruit salad and orange juice. Despite the booking being for 2, apparently paying for breakfast only covered 1. Can't believe there is even a charge for that breakfast, absolutely disgusting. Glasses in the bar, dirty. Like clear lipstick on wine glasses.
Morning staff were clearly not interested in being there.
The ONLY redeeming quality of this place were the afternoon/evening staff that were super helpful.
Price for the room was wildly high considering what it was.
Booked through booking.com - which I think means you get the absolute lowest quality rooms.
