A little bit traditional and a little bit different.
I'm always partial to a hotel that is in an older building, although we did end up in a suite in a structure that was much newer.
There's a lot to like about this place. Parking is great, it's in a much quieter spot while being an easy drive to everything. Oh, and EV charging! I didn't even know it had this until I looked on Plugshare - it doesn't seem to be an advertised feature.
The room itself was bright, beautiful and very clean and comfortable. Actually surprisingly so for the money, with this representing probably the best value stay of this trip.
Would happily stay again.

Outstanding
What a gem this historic hotel is . The rooms are exquisite, the staff friendly and the atmosphere is amazing ! We had breakfast during our stay and everything was fresh and easy to access . I was even given Soy milk for my muesli . WELL DONE the staff of Rydges North Hobart for a great stay and many thanks .

The room is clean and has a good view from the balcony. There are a lot of spots for parking and friendly staff.

We have stayed here before because the rooms are spacious and clean. The staff are friendly, parking is easy and there were plenty of choice for breakfast.

Good stay but the newer staff are not as friendly
We stay here often when we are doing early monring activities in Hobart so want to stay in town. It is located a little way out of the CBD but this means you get free parking and more space. The hotel is old fashioned in a good way and we like the King rooms with a view of the oval and the city in the distance. The value is great compared to the really expensive hotels in the city centre. Hobart is really expensive now. The room was large and comfortable with double sinks in the bathroom and nice toiletries. We also like being able to cast our own media to the TV.
The breakfast that was included in the rate was average.
The staff that I usually deal with (Dee and Siriwan) were not on duty and I found the people I dealt with on check in and check out were nowhere near as good. I had to really push for a 1pm checkout (I am a gold member and this is the entitlement) when I arrived. And then I had to argue again in the morning when I was getting my key reprogrammed... "No, I don't want midday - I want 1pm that was confirmed yesterday!" Staff also had great trouble with Rydges giftcards - eventually this was sorted out and I paid the small balance with my credit card. I just found them to be quite cold - shame as the other team members are lovely and warm.
On this basis, we might try somewhere else next time, if we can find a good rate at one of the other hotels.
