Stunning views

I spent 5 days at Springmead B&B and from the moment I arrived I was blown away.
The views were amazing.
Marjory was very knowledgeable of things to do in the area, including Evans Crown and the Glow Worm Tunnels to name a few.
The time flew and was over way too soon. I hope to return sometime in the future.

A lovely farm stay in a historic homestead

A freshly caught fish and a bottle of wine in hand, my first surprise upon arrival were the lovely views. Hosts Marjory and Greg warmly received me and showed me the bbq and outdoor dining facilities. The room was clean, cosy and steeped in history — beautiful bay windows overlooking the Coxs River Valley. This is a historical homestead and pioneer horse stud, something I learnt from the living room mantels.
Breakfast the next morning was satisfying — Marjory makes great coffee (ground, no capsules!) as well as lovely home made yogurt and muffins. A wave goodbye and a new fond memory of a lovely lodging just two hours from Sydney.

“The Lamb Shank”

Springmead B & B at Kimbri Dr, Rydal NSW 2790 with the lovely Hosts & Owners of this establishment, Marjory & Greg, whom were delightful.
The accommodation was fine with a very comfortable bed & an adequate bathroom in close proximity, across the hallway. Only one small negative, the bedroom needed a good dusting and the absolute highlight of the stay was “The Lamb Shank” cooked on their new Water Jacketed Woodfire Stove this meal was absolutely “Sensational”.
Easy to recommend & would definitely stay again if we have the opportunity down the track.

A slice of heaven

We have just left Springmead after a 4 night stay. This was a very different sort of stay than the typical chain hotel in a city that people may opt for. Instead, it’s a unique property, in a rural area, run by wonderful people and is very special indeed. When you arrive you are struck by the setting- the peace, the wildlife and views to die for. Stress melts away, and if you want to sit and look at the views all day, then that’s absolutely fine! Our room was comfortable and very homely, with a 4 poster bed and a private bathroom (over the hall). Each morning we were served a delicious continental breakfast by Marjory (being vegetarian wasn’t a problem!) and we even had to take the muffins away for a morning snack as there was ample food! We went off exploring the area each day but my favourite time was coming back to just spend time in the haven of the garden. The wildlife is wonderful- a multitude of birds visit the garden, and if you get up early enough you can see kangaroos down the lane. A highlight for us was meeting Uno, the local wombat that Marjory has been taking care of recently. We are very sad to have left, and are about to head back to the U.K. in a few days, but this little slice of heaven will remain as one of the main highlights of our 5 week trip,

Friendly and attentive service

We stayed 2 nights and were the only couple in this beautiful and peaceful country setting. The hosts Marjory and Greg were attentive to our needs especially as the weather was poor and we literally stayed indoors for the majority of our stay. Dinner was cooked for us the first night and it was simple but excellent. Overall this place is very good value.
