Pleasure at Plitvice

This is the place to stay if you visit Plitvice Lakes National Park! I took a Bus from Zadar and the Bus Stop was right above Hotel Plitvice;such a perfect Location! The customer service provided by Lorena was SUPERB! She made sure that my experience in Plitvice was extraordinary AND she assisted me with my travel plans to my next destination! Lorena offered excellent suggestions for dining as well! I even got to go back into the Park the next day because I was staying at Hotel Plitvice; it was so convenient!

Old junk rooms

The hotel (1 room € 243/night on Booking.com) has a nice guarded parking and reception. The hotel has 3 color zones, that are nor indicated on the (old fasioned plastic) label of the (old fashioned) key. So color blind guests eventually find their room…
The room is crappy:
- no fridge/ mini bar
- no airco. You may have a balcony in the full sun, so you keep on sweating.
- you have to take a shower in the bath tub, that wíll set the floor under water.
- no air ventilation in the bath room, so you get a free steam treatment.
- mold on the silicone in the shower compartment.
- tiles on the wall from 1983.
There is no swimming pool. What may you expect from an hotel with > € 240 / night. Gladly a smal 0,33 liter bottle of local beer costs € 3,90 so the owner of the hotel can buy his new BMW 7 series, soon.
Leave this hotel, take another. It is a scam.

Hotel Plitvice PN LAKES DE PLITVICE

Advantages:
Located at entrance 2 of the Plitvice Lakes National Park, free parking, we had booked a package with breakfast and unlimited park entrances throughout the stay.
No Pension Dining but restaurants around including Pizzeria Vucnika 5 minutes drive from the Pension in a small village (ski resort)
Hotel plitvice:
The rooms are in their juice, no sockets near the bed, carpeted floor, old bathroom with bathtub.
No elevator
Restaurant breakfast you have to go down some steps
Very kind and attentive staff

Very cool, retro hotel.

We opted to stay in the Hotel Plitvice on our recent trip to the national park in Plitvicka. Before going we were worried because there seemed to be a fair amount of less than stellar reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised across the board with the hotel. If you are a fan of mid-century you will love this place, and hopefully they keep it as intact as possible during a planned renovation, but it is really cool. The staff was amazingly helpful, guiding us to restaurants (both in the park and outside). They also helped us with our tickets to the park. And the location is perfect, you can walk right out of the hotel and get a train or boat, or jump right onto a trail. We got an amazing room, looking out over the park, with a large balcony. There is no restaurant, but there are good options around, and they have a bar, cafe. The one downside, that we didn't experience, is that there is no a/c in the rooms, which apparently is a challenge in the very hot summer months. But for us (early September), the weather was perfect. We slept with the balcony door and window open, and it was very comfortable.

Maria, The Queen of Plitvice

We stayed in Hotel Plitvice in Mid August 2024, and we were delighted! It's a renovated old hotel, and has that old-times charm and great retro feeling. The service is absolutely immaculate. The room we stayed in was more lake a spacious studio, and we felt it was a real treat for us.
We were shocked to learn that it's a 3-star hotel - it should be an 8-star one, and the staff is 10-star! Maria, Lorena and Valentina at the front desk, Fran in the lobby, and all the other staff members are so nice and friendly. Maria stands out definitely. From the very first moment, when we called to book a room and talked to her on the phone, to the warm and extremely polite reception, to a lot of very useful information about the lakes that she shared with us, she proved to be a Naturally Born Communicator and there is no way to overstate this fact.
One word of nostalgy, and this one goes to the top management of Hotel Plitvice: we heard that there are plans to renovate the hotel. PLEASE try not to ruin its present charm by turning it into something flashy and modern! Your hotel owes its charm to its present atmosphere. Turning it into a characterless modern design will inevitably lead the hotel to losing its appeal.
