Perfect stay in Coron
We just loved this hostel! We had a private room with bath and AC. Everything was very clean. The location is also perfect - you are only 5 minutes away from the best restaurants and at the same time away from the noisy crowds!
Also special thanks to the lady from the reception who organised everything for us and made it all very simple ( tours, airport transfer, laundry).

Decent hostel with a few issues
The hostel was fine, nothing special and very basic but good for its price. The owner was very nice but we had two issues. First of all, they kept their dog locked in a metal cage in the sun 24/7 which was terribly cruel and hard to live next to. Secondly, one of the owners workers stole charging cables off of my bed and then when i asked him if he had seen them he walked to his car, grabbed them out and then returned them to me without apologizing or offering an explanation.

not really an hostel
to me it was more of a guest house. There was one big dorm with ensuite, so that was a plus. Still it didnt feel like a dorm, there wasnt really a reception. The welcom felt so so. Breakfast included of coffee and breadbuns, nothing else. Would stay somewhere else next time

A Happy Camper @ The Happy Camper
As soon as the owner greeted me at the gate and ushered me in, I knew this was one of those rare hostels still operating with the proprietor’s personal hospitality.
The place is wonderful- literally a well built house converted into a hostel, dedicating 2 large spaces as their multi-bed quarters and a spacious bathroom inside each one, with a back up toilet downstairs near the breezy common space with an open kitchen and chillout dining space.
The electric fan and bed ratio is a thoughtful 1:1. You will not get that in any hostel for the price of 450/night. And no bunk beds, just separate singles- you get an unobstructed view of the freshly painted ceiling and not the other backpacker on top of you. Claustrophobics need not fear, because the layout is wide open and minimal.
It is located in a safe and quiet side street, away from the loud engine noise of the main drag, but still a reasonable walk to all the banks, eateries, bars and boat pier.
This hostel beats the other Coron hostels in comfort, value for money and vibe.

Awesome stay
Thanks so much to John and staff for a wonderful stay. Place is close to the ferry (only pay ~50 pesos for a tricycle ride to the hostel) and an easy walk into town for places to eat. There are also a couple of small stores close by where you can buy some things to make your own breakfast.
The hostel has an outdoor kitchen so you can cook,make your own tea and coffee, and plain sweet rolls are provided at breakfast.
The place is very clean, and it's so nice to have a single bed rather than a bunk bed.
The layout really encourages you to get to know your dorm mates which is great too.
We booked all our day trips from the hostel with the company they use (the reef and wrecks tour and the island escapade tour are must dos!).
It's also only about 10mins to the start of the walk up the mountain (go for sunset, it's beautiful! 721 steps up but not hard, just take your time, view is worth it)
There's not much else to do in town and there isn't a beach so make sure you go on the island hopping tours, and go diving if you can!
