Lovely stay at Lio Villas

Stayed here for 4 nights from 11th/15th of March 2025.
Great location because it's only 7/8 minutes by TUKTUK from the airport (you don't hear anything from the airport) Also close to the best beach around (Lio beach) and 10 minutes from the much busier El Nido town. There's a lovely quiet atmosphere with a beautiful pool.
The food is really good. In fact it's surprisingly good considering this hotel is officially 3 star, Nice menu and everything really well prepared.
Roland was a great manager, We only had one small issue (beyond the hotels direct control) but he sorted it out without any issues. We went out for the day and when we came back it was sorted out.
The bed is massive and the mattress is really comfortable.
I think this could easily be bumped up to a 4 star and the only reason it isn't is because it's got a bit of a self catering feel to it (although it isn't). There is 24 hour security and if you come back a bit later there is always someone to let you in.
Stay here if you don't want to be in the manic centre of El Nido and want to feel like you're in a really personal space with good WIFI and close access to the airport.
One other thing, We had a great TUK TUK driver called Charlie who picked us up from anywhere at any hour and took us everywhere we needed to go for a very reasonable price. I would even recommend dropping him a whatsapp before you even land at the airport to pick you up. His whatsapp number was +63 915 683 4694

Check first then book

We recently spent four nights at Lio Villa in El Nido, Philippines (December 22nd-26th), and unfortunately, our experience was a mix of highs and lows.
The villa's stunning location and beautiful surroundings were a dream come true, but the rough road leading to it was a bit of a shock. However, that was just the start - we weren't informed about the construction at the hotel, which made relaxing by the pool very noisy. It is important to inform your guests if there is construction taking place.
Both our villas did not have hot water and this became quite frustrating, especially after being told multiple times that it would be fixed. After the second day, we gave up completely.
What really surprised us, though, was the limited hot water availability - 5pm-7am? We were on holiday, and waking up before 7am wasn't exactly what we had in mind! It wasn't until our last day that it was adjusted to 10am. We've never heard of a holiday destination restricting hot water like that. We should be able to shower with hot water at anytime of the day.
The mornings were also very noisy, with the music starting around 5am making it very difficult to sleep in or have a peaceful morning.
The bar also fell short of our expectations, with limited cocktail ingredients and no San Miguel beer available - a major letdown in peak season. And, the villa's photos didn't quite match the reality. Our room was dated, compared to other villas that were upgraded and modernized.
But amidst all this, hotel staff Jash and Vincent were the shining stars! They looked after us with such kindness and dedication, doing their best with the resources they had. Despite the challenges, they made our stay enjoyable, and for that, we're incredibly grateful. They're a credit to Lio Villa, and we can't praise them enough!
If you're considering Lio Villa, just be aware of the potential limitations, but also know that Jash and Vincent will go above and beyond to make your stay special ."

Worst Service

This was the worst resort we have ever stayed at. While the staff are accommodating and friendly, it seems they would benefit from additional training. Efficiency and effectiveness are lacking, particularly when it comes to meal service. We often received the wrong orders, or the service took an unreasonable amount of time. Considering the prices for both the rooms and the food, it was definitely not worth it.
Additionally, the resort is located quite far from the town center. The cost for a tricycle is 300 pesos one way for just three people, and 1,500 pesos for a van per way. The roads leading to the resort are also in poor condition.
If you’re planning to stay in El Nido, I would recommend looking for a different resort.

Tucked away paradise

This truly was a little paradise tucked away from the busy of the town. It is a little bit of a ride from town, about 300-400 pesos each way, but it is worth staying here if you want some peace and serenity after a long day of activities. The rooms are set as little cottages with small fridge, air-conditioned, large bathroom with a view of small backyard. Breakfast is included and it’s much more than your usual continental breakfast! The swimming pool is clean, nice place to relax. Above all, they really take care of their botanicals to create a little paradise for you. If you book a stay here, I would recommend waiting and booking tours through them so you can get free pickup to town, you need to pay for your way back after the tour.
