Hilton Clark Sun Valley Resort – A Relaxing Resort Stay
Review of Hilton Clark Sun Valley Resort
After spending two relaxing days at Hilton Clark Sun Valley Resort, I completely understood why so many guests choose to stay here whenever they're in Clark. Although the hotel is conveniently located within the expansive D'Heights Resort and Casino complex, it never feels like a busy city hotel. Instead, it offers the atmosphere of a true resort where you can slow down, unwind and enjoy everything the property has to offer.
Our arrival wasn't entirely seamless, however. The D'Heights estate is massive, and while finding the Hilton itself was easy enough, locating the designated guest parking took a little searching as there was no clear directional signage. Thankfully, the security staff were quick to assist and pointed us in the right direction. It was only a small inconvenience and certainly didn't affect the rest of our stay.
The moment we entered the hotel, everything immediately felt polished and welcoming. The elegant lobby, spotless surroundings, and Hilton's signature scent created a wonderful first impression. I also found it interesting that a Duty Free boutique is located within the hotel, offering guests another convenient feature that you don't often find in city hotels.
Since we booked an Executive Room, check-in was completed privately at the Executive Lounge on the fifth floor instead of the main reception. Aaron handled our arrival efficiently while taking the time to explain the hotel's facilities, lounge privileges, dining outlets and recreational activities. It was a personalized welcome that immediately made us feel valued.
Our Executive Room was spacious, clean and thoughtfully designed. The twin beds were exceptionally comfortable, the bathroom was beautifully finished in marble, and the room was equipped with everything needed for a relaxing stay. Housekeeping also deserves special recognition as every corner of the room was immaculate upon arrival.
No hotel is perfect, and there were a few minor areas where Hilton Clark could improve. I was surprised that an Executive Room did not include an in-room coffee machine, something I personally missed despite having complimentary coffee available in the Executive Lounge. Guests also weren't informed that Hilton Honors Digital Key was available, and our room overlooked the parking and service area rather than the resort grounds. A small curtain maintenance issue and some occasional hallway noise were also noticeable, although none of these significantly affected our overall comfort.
One of the highlights of our stay was undoubtedly the Executive Lounge. Throughout the day it offered complimentary refreshments, while the evening cocktails and canapés were genuinely impressive. Rather than an oversized buffet, the lounge served beautifully prepared small plates, premium cheeses, charcuterie, rotating canapés, desserts and an excellent selection of wines, spirits, champagne and other beverages. We enjoyed it so much that we eventually decided to skip dinner altogether.
I also appreciated Hilton's thoughtful food allergen labeling throughout the lounge. As someone who has become more conscious of food sensitivities over the years, seeing clear allergen icons beside each dish was both reassuring and considerate. Small details like these demonstrate genuine care for guests.
Breakfast at Olive Restaurant easily exceeded my expectations. The buffet offered an excellent variety of both Filipino and international dishes, while the live egg station prepared fresh omelets exactly to each guest's preference. My cappuccino was one of the best I've enjoyed at a hotel breakfast, and despite feeling slightly under the weather that morning, I thoroughly enjoyed everything I sampled. There were only two minor observations - the bacon had become slightly rubbery after sitting on the buffet, and the waffle wasn't quite as crisp as I would have liked-but these were very small shortcomings in an otherwise excellent dining experience. The breakfast was so satisfying that we ended up skipping lunch altogether.
The recreational facilities further reinforce Hilton Clark's appeal as a true resort destination. The swimming pool is beautifully maintained and surrounded by comfortable loungers, private cabanas and lush landscaping. I was particularly impressed that a lifeguard remained on duty even while the pool was quiet, reflecting the hotel's strong commitment to guest safety. Families will also appreciate the children's pool, playground, pedal go-karts and other outdoor activities, while fitness enthusiasts will find a spacious, well-equipped gym with excellent locker facilities.
Although I wasn't able to experience a spa treatment during this visit because several signature treatments were temporarily unavailable, Joyce kindly gave me a tour of Apricus Spa. The elegant design, peaceful atmosphere and beautifully maintained facilities left an excellent impression, and I look forward to returning to experience the spa properly in the future.
Throughout our stay, every member of the team consistently demonstrated genuine Hilton hospitality. Aaron provided an excellent welcome during check-in, while Rica and Romer made our Executive Lounge visits especially enjoyable through their warm and attentive service. These personal interactions often become the most memorable part of any hotel stay, and Hilton Clark certainly excelled in this area.
By the time checkout arrived, we weren't in any hurry to leave. Instead, we returned to the pool one last time, relaxed beneath the yellow umbrellas with a refreshing drink, and simply enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere before heading home. That's probably the best compliment I can give any resort, I was already looking forward to coming back.
If you're looking for a five-star resort in Clark that combines comfortable accommodations, an outstanding Executive Lounge, excellent dining, family-friendly facilities and genuinely warm service, Hilton Clark Sun Valley Resort is an easy recommendation. Despite a few minor areas for improvement, we had a wonderful stay and would happily return.
