A Cozy and Artistic Stay in Dumaguete

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Dumaguete from July 13–15, 2026, and it was a great experience from start to finish.
The room was clean, comfortable, and had a unique artistic design that gave it a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It was a relaxing place to unwind after exploring the city.
The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help, making the stay even more enjoyable. Breakfast was included in my stay and, although it was served as a plated meal instead of a buffet, it was delicious, well-prepared, and a great way to start each day.
Overall, Hotel Dumaguete offers excellent service, comfortable accommodations, and great value for money. I would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Dumaguete, whether for business or leisure.

Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful stay! The staff were accommodating and very friendly yet professional. The location is ideal yet quiet. The pool area is superb. Clean and well kept room and hallway. Our bed was very comfortable as we had a very relaxing sleep.They also had our room ready before the expected check in time. They dropped us off at the port for our ferry ride to Siquijor . The ambiance is peaceful and relaxing. The room rates are value for money. Highly recommended for business and family trips.

The hotel is nice, and the service staff are pleasant, smiling, and create a welcoming atmosphere.
However, the breakfast and the service around it leave room for improvement. While the meal itself is decent, there is no reason why machine-brewed coffee shouldn't be included free of charge. Guests are only provided with regular coffee, and ordering from the coffee machine incurs an extra fee on top of the breakfast. This shouldn't be the case.

Outstanding Staff

We were told that this was the second-best hotel in Dumaguete city and that the best hotel was booked out, so we chose to stay here for a week. At first I was very disappointed because of the industrial decor, small bedroom, exceptionally small bathroom and relative remoteness from the CBD. Add to that, as an open-sided building made from concrete positioned directly across the road from a pool hall operating at night, it is quite a noisy stay. On the upside, the rooms are clean and very cheap, and our room had lots of trees outside which were constantly visited by delightful little birds.
However, the staff here are so wonderful that they make up for the obvious lack of atmosphere in this otherwise quite drab hotel. From the security guards to the restaurant staff and housekeeping, they are all friendly, polite and helpful but the women who "man" the front desk are exceptionally outstanding. Whilst my preference is to try new places, I would recommend this hotel to others simply because of the excellent service offered by genuinely lovely staff members.
