Truckers motel

A simple motel with a nice owner. Rooms are simple with a 'water-saving shower' (it hangs low, so you have to hold it while showering).
Dinner is simple, but good. Every day there is a salad of the day, or else you can use the buffet. Then you can choose from 4 or 5 main courses (usually with at least fish of the day, a burger and chicken). And another dessert. And all for €14.50.
Breakfast is very meagre. Croissant, piece of baguette or yogurt. With even less choice of toppings.
Wi-Fi in the main house is good, in the room poor.

Quick very good and pleasant.

Just a quick stop for lunch. What a beautiful discovery. A nice, clean workers restaurant, the staff is helpful fast and kind. Menu proposed very good and accessible. Very good value for money! Stop with your eyes closed.

Great Hospitality

We were lucky enough to get a reservation at this hotel during the Tour de France bike race. The manager was so helpful in assisting us figure out how to get in and out of the city during the race. We were just glad to get a room and weren’t expecting much for €70 during peak season. What a pleasant surprise to find this clean, fresh and tastefully modern hotel just at the west entrance of the city, and not located in an industrial zone, as so many newly built hotels are these days in France. It was also very easy to find, just off the freeway.
The hotel also has a restaurant. The dining room is decorated in grays and beiges on the theme of “stones,” with fun hangings on the wall, and the room keys carry on the theme, connected to a small stone.
The dinner included a buffet of salads as an appetizer and chicken curry for the main dish. Not a great dessert but the rest of the food was good and the service was great.
Only two negatives: 1) The rooms do not have air conditioning, and it was an extremely hot night when we were there. 2) There is no soap dispenser inside the shower. You have to reach out to the soap dispenser by the sink to get bath gel, which is pretty awkward.
Otherwise, I think this was a great value for the money and I would definitely recommend this place to others and stay here again if I had the occasion to be in Cholet.

Excellent for an en-route stop

The Godiniere was an excellent place for an overnight stop. The room was spotlessly clean and looked as if it had just been built. It was of a good size when compared with chains such as Campanille. Prices for the hotel and in the restaurant were very reasonable. When we stopped there nearly all the other guests were commercial lorry drivers. That is perhaps not surprising as one would expect commercial drivers to be sufficiently expert to spot a good place to stop. However the hotel clearly carters for holiday traffic as well.
Whether this is the hotel for you depends upon your requirements. If you want a smart reception area and pretty pictures on the walls of your hotel room then this is not the hotel for you. If you want a fair sized room that is an as new condition at a very good price, I doubt if you could do any better. We would not hesitate to stop there again.
