A family type friendly stay

Very warm and family type ambiance. Nice, comfortable and clean room. Good dinner food that you share with the owners and the other guest. Excellent service. Nicely located for some nature walks (2 to 5 hours, quite easy, nice views)

Very disappointing.

In a group of 11 hikers, the rooms are acceptable; however, do not opt for the full board, as the dinner is acceptable, simple and good family cooking, still 26€! But the breakfast at 12€ consists of bread, industrial brioche, butter, and jam, no eggs, no cheese or dairy, a very important meal to start a hike, not to mention the picnic, which is a disgrace; for 11€, you will receive a tasteless pasta salad with a few pieces of tomato and cucumber, a small slice of bread with a small slice of industrial cheese, a small leaf of lettuce, and a very small apple. We took a 1/2 liter Thermos of coffee, charged at 24€!! All extras are similarly overpriced. We are extremely disappointed and feel like we are being taken for fools.

Lovely place

Accommodation in an extremely old but fantastically well renovated and very attractive property. We stayed when walking the Sentier Cathare and thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent there. Quality accommodation, good food in the evening and at breakfast, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Mixed feelings

We stayed a night here while walking the Sentier Cathar. We were pleased to be given an early checkin pre-arranged for 15:30 rather than the standard 17:00, especially as it was raining when we arrived. Our room was comfortable. The wifi was good. Our hostess, Ghislaine, made us a good regional dinner which we shared with four other walkers, and we spent a pleasant evening. However, there were a few less good aspects to our stay. We were charged a surcharge for "electricity contribution" of 4 euros each, yet were not able to use the room heater ("too complicated") or the heated towel rail (labelled "do not use") even though we had wet clothes because of the rain. The breakfast was less good than we expected for the price, old bread toasted, small quantities of jam, although there was nice yoghurt. On balance, I think there are better value chambres d'hote to stay at in the region - at Camurac (only 30 mins away on foot and well worth the detour), Montsegur and Serre de Marou - where the welcome is warmer and the offerings are more generous.

It is clearly stated in all the rooms that it is forbidden to dry the linen on the electric radiators under penalty of setting fire to the house.
A dryer is available in the laundry room.
The electricity contribution of 4 € was foreseen in the contract Booking.com and does not concern the heating of the room but the whole house.
The central heating was on and indicated 22 ° C throughout the house
The four other guests were delighted with their stay and their breakfast. However they did not have an early check in ......

Beautifully kept and individual chambre d'hote

We stayed here while doing the Sentier Cathare. Owner Ghislaine is a charming hostess and proud of her very individual home. She joined us for a friendly dinner which she cooked herself. This was a great place to stay.
