Stay at Chateau de Taulane from May 21 to May 24, 2026.
We (couple) stayed at Chateau de Taulane from May 21 to May 24, 2026. In December 2025, we booked a SUPERIOR double room with breakfast and paid the total amount of €927 by credit card. In an email dated December 22, 2025, the SUPERIOR double room with breakfast for 2 persons was confirmed to us. In January 2026, our previously confirmed reservation was canceled by email without giving reasons, with the simple notification: they had no SUPERIOR double room for us, and our stay was thus canceled. The credit card payment would be refunded. No alternative was offered to us. The simple search on the Chateau Taulane's website revealed that although no Superior Double Room was available for our stay, a CLASSIC Double Room with breakfast was indeed bookable, which we then booked as an alternative. We then received a new booking confirmation via email on January 26, 2026, and lived in fear that this would not be canceled by the hotel again before our stay. However, this did not happen, and so we stayed at Chateau Taulane from May 21 to May 24, 2026.
We wanted to play two rounds of golf on the hotel's golf course on May 22 and May 23, 2026. After making an online booking in advance, a tee time was reserved for us at 11 AM for both days and confirmed via email on April 7, 2026. Due to the previous experience, we visited the pro shop on the day of arrival, May 21, 2026, to confirm our tee times for the following two days once again. During this visit, we were informed that our tee time on May 22, 2026, was at 11:30 AM, which was later than confirmed in writing, and on May 23, 2026, it was at 11 AM as booked. However, they needed to move the tee time on May 22 to 11:40 AM because someone who had not booked in advance wanted to play at 11:30 AM. We then protested, pointing to the written confirmation, and insisted on our tee time at 11:00 AM. They then sent us to hole 2 where we were to move up in front of a group of four that had already started at hole 1. In front of us, the last flight of a tournament was playing at a significant distance, allowing us to play quickly as a pair without holding up the tournament. However, after two holes, we caught up with the tournament and had to wait at each hole, resulting in a longer playing time. It is worth mentioning that there are only a few seating areas on the golf course, and we had to stand around during the waiting time since we walked there. We started our round of golf on May 23rd at the booked time, and since the course was not very busy that day, we were able to play at a good pace. We were very disturbed that when booking a room and a golf tee time, there is no adherence to written confirmations, which are canceled or rescheduled at will, without even showing interest in offering the customer or guest an alternative. It also seems that there is no awareness of wrongdoing or apologies in this hotel. No, this misconduct is not even recognized, and one obviously feels bound by no legal requirements, treating their guests like merchandise instead. In any case, we believe that we will not return to Chateau Taulane, as a booking there feels too uncertain for us. We would like to mention that we travel several months a year and have never experienced a confirmed booking not being honored.

A day of golf at the Château de Taulane estate.
On Thursday, May 29, we went to the Château de Taulane estate for a round of golf to escape the current heatwave. The course is still as magnificent as ever, ranking in the top 5 European mountain courses.
We continued our day at the restaurant Trattoria da Mario, and given the late hour, we ordered three pizzas that turned out to be excellent, accompanied, of course, by refreshing drinks that are a must!
What is on the plate is important, but we emphasize the welcome, the caddy master, and the restaurant where the staff is charming and smiling; the same goes for the kitchen staff I encountered at one point when one of them came out, smiling and greeting us.
We can only recommend this place, which is 1 hour from Cannes, 1.5 hours from Nice, and at an altitude of 1000 meters!
We should also highlight the renovation work undertaken this winter: a total success!
