Great stay

Travelled to Poitier for a holiday with my 9 year old son. The hotel is a 5 min walk (using the "secret passage" to poitier centre. Similar distance to the train station which was handy for an evening at futurescope (tip - get the entry ticket for 5pm onwards as its half price and still gives nearly 6 hours in the park without the heat).
Our hotel room was clean and tidy with a good shower and a/c which worked well.
There is a foosball table at the entrance which my son loved playing with other kids. There is a water machine available which is really handy. Breakfast is 15 euro for adults with kids being free. This price is okay but perhaps a bit expensive just for one adult. I paid 40 euros a night for the room in peak season which is a bargain. Staff friendly and all in all a nice stay.

They do not solve, nor do they try to solve, a problem with the air conditioning. There was a temperature of 37 degrees

Great stay but customer service can be improved

We booked 2 rooms. One was in a very good condition, the other one was not well cleaned (dust bunnies on the floor). Although rooms are dated they are functional and comfortable. The kitchenette contains all necessary bit and pieces. The location is very good, close to the fare routiere, gare SNCF and to the historic centre. Staff is very different, from inexperienced (please ask someone tomorrow) to very helpful to "what excuse do I have to refuse a request". The manager (this is the way his position and authority looked) is unfortunately in the last category. He checked the instructions on whether he can refuse late check-out and hurray, he found that yes he could. He told off a friendly receptionist in very strong terms for allowing late checkout (did not even wait for us to leave - I guess he assumed we do not speak any French) - extremely unprofessional.

Nice enough place in itself and great and helpful staff but 2 things got me. First the air conditioning unit leaked water and could not be used or else I would have flooded the room and a technician was not available until after I left the next day (1 night stay). Considering check in was 3pm and I reported this about 4pm this really isn't very good that there is no technician available. Next was the location, though not far from the town centre it's not in a great location but I suppose that's why it's affordable just a note for others to consider if booking

Disappointment from start to finish

Unfortunately, our experience at this hotel was very disappointing.
We chose this establishment particularly because parking was advertised as included. Upon our arrival, we found that it was already full, which forced us to look for a parking space on the street.
Upon entering the room, we noticed an unpleasant and persistent odor, also present in the bathroom. The air conditioning was noisy and its operation did not seem optimal.
Moreover, several details related to comfort should be reviewed: the toilet paper holder was placed in an inconvenient location, very close to the radiator, making its use uncomfortable. Additionally, some basic amenities were missing in the bathroom, including tissues and cups.
The breakfast was very basic and insufficiently replenished.
Overall, this stay did not meet our expectations. We were disappointed by the services offered, we do not recommend this establishment and we do not plan to return.
