The road is very long to deserve and maintain a 5-star rating.

The whole thing does not deserve 5 stars. Unfriendly welcome, no help to carry suitcases up a narrow spiral staircase, no air conditioning in the room, empty refrigerator that was not working, just a fan to circulate the very hot air! comfortable bedding. Bathroom small mirror above the sink, you shave, you put on makeup on your knees. It is very convenient. Dinner set menu: cold salmon thing, coq au vin, I don't remember the dessert, all coming from the local deli or from Findus, Picard, or Nestlé, smiling service. Breakfast unworthy of a 5-star hotel, served on the terrace like dinner.
Without having asked for anything, a 10% discount.
Conclusions: architecture, location, setting, magnificent views.

Magnificent site but no service. 5-star rating not justified.

Establishment that in no way deserves its 5-star rating. While the site is magnificent, we noted a near absence of staff.
Unwelcoming reception. No one to take our suitcases up to the floors via a cramped spiral staircase.
Neither air conditioning nor a fan.
Since the neighboring restaurant was closed, we were served a set menu with coq au vin on a heatwave day.
Unprofessional management.

Inaudible show to avoid, painful and uninteresting, expensive!

Painful, disappointing visit, too dark and sound too loud, music and commentary inaudible and we were 3 adults and did not enjoy it, nor did we see the interior rooms of the castle well.

Wow - amazing, needs more than 5 stars! Staying in a proper castle is always an experience, but this was the best of all that I have stayed in. Lovely room (we were upgraded), so much character, amazing service, we even got a tour of the castle.
Dinner and breakfast were very good, the staff attentive and very helpful.
Note - this property would not be suitable for people with mobility issues
