Small but essential

Small mountain hotel very nice and managed by a very friendly staff. Breakfast very good and varied. Only the rooms I found a little too small.

Best in class

Look, the HillTop Kazbegi is no Park Hyatt. It is a small, family run, boutique guest-house - but, I think "best in class". It sits one side of the valley, facing Mount Kazbegi and Gergeti Trinity Church, offering good views from the small balcony in your room. There is no restaurant.
My room was rather spartan, no TV, no safe, but very clean and just enough space for luggage. Wifi was OK, bathroom small, but adequate with basic amenities and crisp white towels.
Breakfast is downstairs and buffet style : a reasonable choice, supplemented with some fresh dishes straight out of the kitchen (French toast and mashed potatoes). Some fresh juice and coffee (instead of instant) would be an improvement.
Because there's no TV in the room, I spent some time in the lobby area, where I struck a conversation with delightful young lady Gvantsa, a family friend who helped out looking after reception (her English was excellent and she studied architecture) : her friendly, personal attitude made my experience at HillTop all the more valuable and she is a great asset for the business.

Very friendly and helpful staff

Gvantsa the lady working in reception was amazing, very helpful and always smiling trying to make our stay perfect. Whenever we approach her to ask anything she will make sure to help us with what we need.
Hotel is nice on top of the hill with nice view, surrounded by plenty of restaurants. Breakfast was nice , decent have what you need don’t expect 5 starts breakfast. But the variety they had was nice. I would definitely recommend it

Beautiful accommodation

The Hilltop Kazbegi is a small family-run hotel, located a little above the town. Friendly check-in. The room is quite small, but as is the bathroom
immaculately clean. The view from the balcony of Mount Kazbek (snow cap) towering opposite with the Gergeti Trinity Church is unique. Breathtaking.
The Hilltop does not have an evening restaurant. However, you are welcome to eat food you have brought with you in the cozy breakfast room.
Large, plentiful breakfast.
The highlight: the hotel organized an inexpensive taxi for me (40 Lari) to the church and back. 100 extra points!
