Manageable for short stay

The room was okay but cleanliness could be improved, especially in the washroom. Staff was polite, but service felt a bit slow at times. it’s manageable for a short stay, but I expected a better experience for the price.

Worst hotel with over price I have seen

Worst hotel I have seen dirty spotted pillows, smelly towels no toileteries in bathroom and even they charged complimentary water bottle on bill, property.Unprofessional staff from reception to rooms. Never recommended this property.

Avoid it.

Stayed here for the night on my trip to Shimla. Turned out, it was a huge mistake. Abusive owner- no no less with a women. Not safe for family or solo travelers. Absolutely avoid if traveling alone.
The rooms were ok but pillows and sheets were dirty. No general tidiness but there was hot water

Unssuming facade and reception, comfortable interiors and responsive owner and staff

Sobti Plaza being located on a narrow plot along a busy thoroughfare has an unassuming facade and reception. However, once you go up the lift (a well mantained Scindler) to any floor, you step out into spacious and well laid out lobby. The rooms are clean, well furnished and spacious.
The rear side rooms are of a higher category and more spacious and we had stayed in these (for five nights, having gone for a wedding). The view behind the all glass rear wall was blocked by a wall but diffused day light came from a glassed sky opening on the top.
Though the rooms were fitted five years ago, sanitary fittings in bathrooms are surprisingly stain free. Solar heated water is available virtually all day round, including in the wash basin tap (I hope it stays that way in monsoon and summer... I was told there is a geyser back up) and the mixer works well. The amount of cold water to be discarded before hot water flow starts in just half a bucket unlike many hotels where many bucket fulls have to be wasted.
There is no restaurant but room service is prompt and items tasty (we tried only parathas, apart from toast butter).
On the flip side, the AC is without any mode setting option... only temperature and fan speed setting is there. The swing does not work properly. The end result is that the compressor starts when you don't want it to or does not when you want it to. Secondly, sharp corners of furniture and fittings jutting out in some places require constant awareness, to avoid getting yourself hurt when moving about. I have suggested cushioning of such corners to the owner Mr. Parmeet Singh who is personally present at the hotel most of the day to ensure service quality.

Rude behaviour

Owner's behaviour was terrible..he doesn't know how to behave with the customers.Owner was very rude.Before 12 only he called for check out.
He doesn't deal politely with the customers.Not good experience.
