hotel is decent, but Gulmarg itself let us down
We stayed at Gulmarg Woods for two nights in May 2026. The location is excellent – just behind the helipad, very close to the Gondola and the pony stand. The market is a bit far, but for Gondola access, you can't ask for a better spot.
Food was okay – limited options, but whatever was available was of good quality. No complaints there.
The cottage-style rooms gave us plenty of space as a family. However, our overall Gulmarg experience was ruined by the Gondola chaos (no Phase 2 tickets, long queues, shouting crowds) and the fact that there's nothing else to do in summer. The children's park was closed, and the pony ride took us to a disappointing snow patch.
If you have confirmed Phase 2 tickets, this hotel is a great base. Otherwise, no hotel can salvage a wasted day in Gulmarg.
In winters this Hotel will be excellent.

Great location, superb service.
Wonderful experience at this charming hotel. Location is top class. Five minute walk to the gondola. Beautiful views. Comfortable interiors. Best of all EXCELLENT SERVICE! Firdaus and Jamshed and the chef all combined to make this a memorable stay.

A Winter Wonderland Escape!
I recently stayed at "Gulmarg woods", nestled on a stunning snow-capped place, and it was nothing short of magical. .
The location is simply unbeatable—perched on the peak with breathtaking panoramic views of endless snow-covered landscapes. It was an experience I'll never forget.
They are basically cottages with a common dining area and two separate rooms.
The rooms were cozy and thoughtfully designed. The large windows allowed me to enjoy the view even from the comfort of my bed.
The staff's warm hospitality made my stay even more comfortable.
I highly recommend this gem to anyone looking to combine adventure with relaxation. I can’t wait to return!

A Gem in Gulmarg
When you arrive at Gulmarg Woods,you feel like you are in. a Ski resort chalet in Europe. Smooth check in.Comfortable chalets with great amenities.Chalets were serviced daily.Meals are served in your chalet.
Just 600 m fro m the Cableway and within walking distance of the ski slopes.

A very cozy cottage hotel
The hotel, gulmarg by the woods is a very cozy and comfortable hotel. It has about 4-5 cottages with each cottage having 2 rooms. The rooms are very warm and have 2 heaters in each room. The bed also has an electric blanket which can be heated. There is a lot of space in each room. The food is also very good. There is a balcony in each room and the view is also good. There are also a lot of windows and a dining space in each cottage in a common space in both the rooms. Overall, it is an excellent hotel and is not too far away from the Gulmarg gondola and the market. You can stay here without any problem and the staff here are also very helpful.
