Warm hospitality with scenic beauty.

What an amazing find this property turned out to be, a haven for people seeking tranquility.
The tents are very spacious and thoughtfully fitted with many electrical points, electric hot bags, powerful torches, toiletries, etc.
The meals are wholesome, tasty and plentiful. Both veg and non veg meals are available as per choice. I am still dreaming of the ginger tea I had every morning!
Carry your binoculars as there are many crocodiles and different species of birds to watch. The birds skimming across the lake are a superb sight.
Last but certainly not the least, the manager of the property, Naveen, and his team were warm hosts. Naveen is very well informed about all the flora and fauna around. It is an added bonus to go out on a safari with him.
I highly recommend staying at Dera Baghdarra for a few days if you want a complete break from city life and soak in some beautiful sunrises and sunsets surrounded by bird calls.

Great retreat for pie e and quiet away from city hustle and bustle

Excellent location of the retreat and of our tent right in front of the lake. Perfect for peace and to listen to Dawn and dusk bird chorus. The tent is spacious and comfortable ( not luxurious). The porch furniture could have been more comfortable considering a lot of time is spent. For me, the bed mattress was just too soft giving me a backache. The manager Naveen and all the resort staff as well as the office staff were excellent and always making sure we were comfortable and got everything we needed. The food provided was excellent and had variety.
The air cooler in the tent was quite noisy as was the background 24/7 noise from the mining carried out nearby. Navenby has extensive knowledge of the local fauna and flora and we enjoyed the evening jeep safari.
On the whole a very good experience.

wonderful and relaxing stay at Dera Baghdarrah . .

Tents are sizeable and beautifully located in front of the lake. . its apt for people looking forward to spend some quite time . . .Ashwin was the property manager and he took us for wonderful,nature walks and took care of every little thing required. . . it was super relaxing and peaceful to sit in the wilderness around a bonfire. . 2 nights is a good time for a property like this . .food is simple and sumptuous and you will not miss home . .

Perfect for relaxation

Isolated destination for people who love to immerse into nature. We spend nights there, enjoy the songs of birds in the morning, the sound of night and the gorgous sunset. Sometimes on the road we found beautiful peacocks flirting. How peaceful!

Amazing beautiful nature retreat, highly recommended!

We stayed for 1 night at Dera Baghdarrah and really enjoyed the nice retreat in the calm and beautiful nature after some busy city days. The sleeping tents are huge and very clean. A big positive was definitely Pankaj, the manager, who was very friendly & helpful and spent lots of time with us explaining and showing us the fauna & flora around the retreat. We could also spot many crocs. The food was delicious, incredible given the kitchen in the middle of the nature. The only little downside was that parts of the retreat (especially some nice viewpoints) could not properly be used as they were under maintenance at that time. Otherwise, highly recommended!
