Excellent ubication

Comfortable room, excellent ubication next to Gangah and nice view to the city from a big roof top.
2 minutes walk to the passage where people comes with the bodies to the crematories.

Perfect place to stay!!

Tree baba hostel or just Suraj hostel is very good located place, very quiet but still close to main ghat. We liked all the family. They are all very friendly. Suraj can help you with everything you want like tours, transfers or boat trips and the price is very equitable. So I can recommend this place! But ask everyone to find at first time!

Peaceful, friendly, memorable.

Just reading through these reviews, it’s great to see that Suraj hasn’t changed, and that people are still enjoying their time spent there. I stayed here a few years back, but should I visit Varanasi again, this place would certainly be at the top of my list of places to stay.
My room was one of the double rooms, off the communal area. I was concerned that noise would be an issue, but it turned out the room was very quiet and comfortable.
One of the major selling points of this place is the location, just minutes away from the Ganges and a great place to start a walk down the river along the ghats. The views from the rooftop of Suraj are spectacular at any time of the day, across the Ganges to the far side of the river. And great for watching troupes of monkeys going about their business. Or to just sit and listen to the chanting from the nearby temples.
If you’re reading this review, the chances are you’re travelling on a budget around India. For the money, this place has everything you need. It’s secure, it’s comfortable, it’s friendly, it’s in the right place for everything you might want to see. Varanasi can be an overwhelming place, Suraj offers a peaceful space to escape back to. Enjoy.

I like this veryuch i feel like best culture of Varanasi in this & views great history of Varanasi like Sarnath ,ghats it was great feeling with my friends with hot caffeine in Morning & and enjoying beauty of Varanasi

Nice and quiet place to discover the authentic Varanasi

I stayed a week at the Suraj guest house and from the first day I felt very good! My room, the roof top, the location, the price... All is perfect! The boss and the staff are very attentive. In addition Suraj offers guided tours of the city. I absolutely recommend this establishment!
