Nice place but needs some touches to make me want to visit again!
I arrived late and the concierge showed me to my suite. I was disappointed with having a butler service I didn’t get to meet anyone. All week I didn’t see or speak to any butler service. Also most of the experiences here are for couples which is such a shame as I’d have loved to do them solo. I wasn’t told about any of the restaurants and what was available. So I’m sure I missed out.
The staff are lovely but it all seems very chaotic. Happy hours between 5-7pm daily in Tree Bar are great however it’s open to the public also and it got very busy and felt like hotel guests were left to wait. I got asked several times what I wanted but the drink never appeared.
The staff are obsessed about the meal vouchers asking for them directly and giving you a different menu which seems harsh. You should be able to pay extra if you want too. The food however was very good. Breakfast was a bit odd. No preserves or salad items. And would have preferred to get my own coffee from a machine or barista.
The pool is lovely but was full of screaming kids most of the time. It was also over run by ants. There should be an adults only pool here where we can relax without the noise. The pool guys were standing around most of the time instead of cleaning. Would be nice to have cold towels handed out.
My room was lovely although the bed was quite hard and the outside day beds were quite dirty and always wet and damp. Seems to be a lot of outside staff but no one really checking the beds. Also there is no access from the room over the suites pool to the day bed and no way to order drinks which is odd. The step down to the pool from the lagoon suites is very low and as I have an issue with my knee I couldn’t use it.
The spa was fabulous and both treatments I had were superb. The hot stone massage and the facial was amazing. I’d highly recommend the spa.
Also reception wanted a credit card on arrival and £250 on reserve. Iv travelled the world and always used by Mastercard debit card but they wouldn’t take it. So I ended up paying as I went which wasnt ideal. I put some laundry in and I had to go to reception to pay for it as they held it hostage - it was about £6! Very odd for an international hotel.
My TV started at 7am every morning so had to let receptions know. Not sure what they did to it but Netflix never worked after that.
Tree Bar needs some ceiling fans as it was very hot in the evenings.
The Nespresso machine and free water is a nice touch in the bedrooms and I liked the macarons however mine were stale.

Magnificent Maya Sanur Resort & Spa
16 days rest & relaxation at Maya Sanur Resort & Spa was awesome. We were on a @luxury_escapes package which included a room upgrade, 2 massages each, breakfast & lunch or dinner & daily cocktails. This is without doubt the best Bali holiday we’ve experienced in 10+ visits . The suite was spacious & beautifully appointed. Rooms cleaned & everything topped up twice a day. Loved the pools, the Spa, Gym & all the restaurants with choices of where to eat. The food was awesome at Kuu (Japanese), Rue (bakery, cakes, pizzas plus), Tree Bar was fabulous for lunch, afternoon tea (free every day), dinner, cocktails & happy hours, with live music each night. There’s a kids’ club for the little ones, beach boardwalks in either direction & amazing friendly staff. I was unfortunately ill on arrival but they have a registered nurse available on site each day & a Dr on call if necessary. Our room was not ready when we arrived early but they graciously gave us access to a temporary room so I could rest & recover! Everything was awesome & we will definitely make Maya Sanur our base for our next trip! Thank you to all staff for making our holiday amazing. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Maya Sanur amazing resort
Beautiful resort, we stayed in a pool suite for 5 nights, amazing room & wonderful staff. Hotel was super clean & the housekeeping staff did an amazing job right down to the pool cleaners. Food was beautiful especially the Tree Bar and Rue, had 2 beautiful meals there, could not fault it. Gorgeous main pool area & nightly entertainment.

Outstanding hotel which did not dissapoint !
We have just returned from 8 nights at the Maya Sanur .
Our experience was outstanding -from the early morning complimentary yoga class to the beautiful day spa treatments. All the staff are professional and welcoming at every bar and restaurant.
The rooms are spacious with beauriful comfotable king size beds . Such a lovely relaxing time -thank you we will.be back.

Another stay at Maya Sanur, and once again it was absolutely wonderful.
This trip was a little different as J is recovering from broken ribs and needed plenty of rest. Fortunately, Maya was the perfect place to slow down and recharge. We stayed in a Lagoon Room and quickly settled into a beautiful routine: wake up, coffee, swim, rest, breakfast, beach walk, rest, lunch, rest, a little shopping, rest, cocktails, rest, dinner, live music, and more rest. It was exactly what we needed.
The entire experience was relaxing, peaceful, and effortless. The staff were warm and attentive, and the resort itself is beautifully maintained.
I also treated myself to a massage and facial at the spa, which was exceptional. My skin feels healthy, refreshed, and happy.
A special mention to Kuu – the Japanese food is simply divine and remains one of our favourite dining experiences in Sanur.
Thank you to the whole Maya team for another memorable stay. We leave feeling rested, cared for, and already looking forward to coming back.
