Lovely old manor house with separate cottages set on a hilltop with a small forest and a fairy trail walk. A great location to relax and unwind, very quiet. There was no-one there when I arrived late afternoon but it wasn’t a problem as someone came to check me in when I rang the number. Lovely small room with stonewashed walls and modern bathroom. Recommended for a quiet getaway

Idyllic timeless haven

I loved staying here. Splotless, romantic, pretty. It has a timeless feel. Great and generous breakfast, comfortable mattress, beautifully decorated, tasteful country style like a magazine illustration, and nice little walk on the estate, which was named for a fairy fort a few minutes away. Just down the road from Ballymaloe hotel and restaurant, a big local social/culinary hub with a very nice bar, and a short drive from Garryvoe, Midleton, Cloyne and Ballycotton. You can also pet the friendly donkeys out front.

SWedding Day at the special Barnabrow House

From the moment we visited, we knew this was the perfect wedding venue for us. What really stood out was how intimate, personal, and private it feels. It creates such a relaxed atmosphere where you can truly enjoy your day surrounded by the people you love.
One of our favourite things was that it's so dog friendly. Being able to have our dogs involved in our wedding made the day even more special, and it's something we struggled to find elsewhere. We also absolutely loved the resident donkeys and goats—they add so much charm and character to the venue—and the beautiful natural grounds provide the most stunning backdrop.
The food was incredible and clearly freshly made, with every dish being absolutely delicious. The rooms are cosy, unique, and full of character, making the whole experience feel even more special for us and our guests.
Finally, we can't praise the staff enough. They were so accommodating, friendly, and genuinely helpful throughout the entire planning process, making everything feel effortless and stress-free. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and they helped make our wedding day everything we had hoped for.
We couldn't recommend this venue more highly to anyone looking for a beautiful, relaxed, and truly memorable place to get married.

Great place for a longer stay for a larger group

I highly recommend Barnbrow House. Our employees, who were working in Aghada, stayed there for an extended period starting in mid-April, and everything went smoothly. Even with a larger group and a long rental period, the organization was excellent. The contact was great, communication was quick and to the point, and the staff was very flexible and helpful. The entire stay went smoothly. Great place and excellent service!

Staff were very nice but this property needs an upgrade. It’s also an hour from Cork City fyi
