The ghost of ALA BIRDI -

I book online for one night to participate in an equestrian event, double room, with definition "superior". I enter the dates of arrival and departure but the system in error memorizes the example dates, or incorrect dates. Since I had paid the full amount, I do not spend even 1 minute and I contact the reception of the Hotel. A seemingly friendly voice informs me that they will only be able to intervene the next day as the attendant after 6pm is no longer operational, I explain that the wording of the reservation indicated "NON-REFUNDABLE" , but I am immediately reassured that the next day after 09:00 I would be contacted and somehow things would be settled. The next day not having been contacted as mentioned, I call around 10, always reassuring voice (female) informs me that they had sent me an email and that they had corrected the reservation, but that I should pay a difference when I arrived at the Hotel (?). The next day at about 11 am I arrive at the hotel to take the room and I am better informed about the services and the various rules of entry and exit (annoying malt mode and with little empathy). First, settle the difference created about the cost of the room, given the "concession" to have partially refunded what I paid, equal to € 35.00 . Then pay a deposit of € 20.00 for the two magnetic access cards to the structure (very worn, almost undone, only to discover that they were not used for any kind of practical functionality). Delivery of the FREE VAUCHER to access the spa , useful for advance booking of 50 Minutes of allowed access to the spa. Finally the room key, classic key with hotel pendant. Breakfast times: from 07:30 to 10:00, remember that it is a structure that hosts equestrian competitions, and the riders from 07.00 are already in the stables to prepare the horses for the first race at 09:00 ! so breakfast must be done elsewhere, or in a great bar about 3 km away from the Horse Country Resort . Dinner time from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.! Practically for the same reasons already explained, you have to "run" for dinner That is, hope that the afternoon race finishes on time to allow accommodation for the night of the horses (particularly for the horses competition or race) and then prepare in time to go to dinner. The room assigned to us resulted in another structure about 80 meters away in a kind of housing style building, with entrance equipped with vending machines (first generation) with snacks and drinks. At the entrance, immediately the bathroom on the left with a broken shower , with sliding doors "arranged" to be able to avoid flooding the room during the shower, the color of the tiles and furnishings without any aesthetic taste, very old. The TV, with remote control that works in part. To turn on and off you do from the TV, channels from the remote control. Finally, dinner at the restaurant, an experience that after a day of competition and hard work hopefully will be "restorative" , but not! A girl at the entrance of the restaurant (also in another building located in the internal gardens) with act as an "entrance to the disco" asks us the number of the room and how many we are, before admitting to the club! Having communicated the number of the room allows us to enter , no Welcoming nor addressing at the table , basically you enter and settle where it happens. Note the staff, never a look nor a smile towards the Customers! no empathy for the latter, to make us feel almost guilty of being "Customers" and make them work! In an adjacent room the buffet, not a real buffet but a kind of deception for the eyes! The first glance detects an apparent choice of food placed in the various tables set up, but then serving you realize that the same dishes are repeated in the various tables! basically not 10/15 dishes but 5/8 well repeated! drinks? Water dispensed from a dispenser, the taste? a bad plastic aftertaste. other drinks? there are but it turns out that they are for a fee! And the waiter at the time of the request, first charges and then brings the drink! Note that on the booking (which I looked carefully) of all this there are no indications. Other things that left me stunned, outdoors during the day, by the pool there is the central bar. The only Service at the table is a waiter I noticed smoking while collecting from the tables! In conclusion, a real shame that a structure with that potential has reduced in this way, I recommend to those who must participate in horse racing competitions at the Horse Country Resort to stay elsewhere and not spoil the mood and the race giving confidence to those who do not deserve it!
