impossible to forget hotel grotticelle

Structure very attention to detail, spacious room equipped with all comforts, courteous and professional staff from check-in and throughout the stay. Wide choice in breakfast between sweet and savory, great food even for dinner.
Beach and wonderful sea, also here all very clean.
Thank you so much for the wonderful stay you made me spend, I will be back soon.

THE WORST HOLIDAY EVER

I am a mother of a family with 5 members, we came here because we read several good reviews and because we wanted to try a new place, like calabria. The only positive thing? The sea.
In the house there were no air conditioners, we were warned that there were fans in each room, then we thought that at least the fans worked well and that they made air. Two paltry fans blatantly bought by the Chinese, one even broke whistling on the number 1. As soon as we went in the fridge was broken, so we had to call to get it fixed. The table in the house completely wobbly. We couldn't lean on anything or it would collapse, we called to change it and they told us they would come later today, guess what? In 13 days no one came to change it.
The broken shower door, you couldn't even close it completely. A wardrobe completely inaccessible, the door could not be opened in any way.
In all the beds there was a blanket that caused a rash to my daughter, you could not touch that you would scratch all over your body.
We called before we came asking if there were boys my daughter's age (15) and they had told us to rest assured and that it was full. We arrive and the oldest child was maximum 4 years old.
The fun was 12 kilometers from the house, tropea. So if you wanted to go out in the evening you could not do anything except travel by car. The beach closed at 7pm so if in the evening we wanted to enjoy the fresh beach air they could not do it.
Basically? NEVER GO THERE. Disorganized, bad cleaning and zero fun. There were animations in the evening that were of infinite sadness. Never again in this horrible place.

After reading horrible reviews, I am satisfied with staying in this hotel

I stayed in Residence Esmeraldo for ten days at the beginning of July and I am satisfied. The good sides of the hotel are food, which was delicious, as well as very professional service in the restaurant. The room was very clean and nice. This hotel is situated only several minutes away from the beach, but I preferred other beaches in the area. My critique goes to the reception staff who either don't understand you or do not give you the right information and seem rather uninterested. Still, all the most important things in the hotel are done very professionally.

Terrible

The room is very small,the kitchen smells of gas ,the toilet stunk of drains and the washing machine was from the 1960's .
Nobody came to clean the room or change the towels and the bed sheets in the 2 weeks we were there .

Beautiful location, friendly staff ... will be definitely back

I went there with my boyfriend as our first holiday together, so my hopes were quite high. The residence is about 1hr from the airport but is an easy journey as the views are so beautiful. Public transport isn’t easy so we booked the transfer with the residence, which charged us 140 euro return. To be honest I first found it expensive but the service was perfect and would have cost us the same if we had rented a car. The apartment was basic, but spacious, clean and well equipped with kitchen appliances and accessories. They have charged also £26 euro to provide towels and sheets, but again I suppose this is fair when you rent an apartment. The receptionist was extremely polite and helpful in everything we needed. My boyfriend forgot his brand new super tech mobile phone on the transfer car but it was found and returned to us with no time. The beach is BEAUTIFUL and literary 10 minutes walk from the residence… they provide transfers to the beach very often during the day (you must pay 3 euro a day x person for the usage of the pool, beach transfers and animation either if you use or not) but we never used it. This is the perfect location for relaxation… if you are up for life night you won’t find there, but if what you want is just to relax there is the perfect spot. My only negative comments would be: there are only 2 markets nearby where you can buy your groceries and prices were quite high. Finally, don’t forget to bring a powerful repellent as there are some mosquito killers always ready to attack. But I can assure you that none of those negative points will stop me going back there in the early future.
