Very nice holiday

Very nice and friendly family, the apartment was very nicely furnished, clean and in a good location.
The underground car park was perfect.
We were able to charge our bikes for free and lock them up.
Breakfast was very good and varied.
We would go on holiday with the Brunner family again at any time.

Excellent stay!

I recently stayed a week in a one-bed apartment. I booked through the Sittnerhof website and all arrangements, including check-in and check-out, were handled in a very friendly and efficient way. Sittnerhof is a nice combination of historic (the original buildings, the Stube) and modern (the accommodation itself).
The apartment is well-designed and well-equipped with a large bathroom and good shower; spacious and comfortable. Even in mid-April the weather was warm and sunny and so I was glad to have a terrace which had the sun until late and a great view of the mountains: perfect for a glass of wine in the evenings (and the Sittnerhof's own good wine is available to buy).
I had the Sittnerhof breakfast on my first morning (the rest of the time I self-catered) - it was good and plentiful, with some home-made items like jams and cake. So B & B could also be a good option. There's a nice garden available for use with a pool in the summer. The owners are very friendly and helpful.
It's located in a quiet area of Meran but is still convenient, being within, say, 15 minutes walking distance of the centre, the railway/bus station and the start of the Tappeinerweg. Meran itself is interesting and there's plenty to see and do in the area, including some great walks.
I enjoyed my stay very much and would happily stay here again.

Wonderful apartment, great place to stay in Meran!

We just returned from beautiful Meran and wonderful Sittnerhof. This was our perfect get-away for 5 nights around Easter 2013. A family of 3 with our 3-year-old daughter, it was just wonderful to have a place that was quiet, within walking distance to downtown and even to the Meran Therme (spa), just below vineyards and the well-known walking trail Tappeiner Weg. The walk to downtown is really easy, the street is quiet and there are no crossings so we could let our daughter scoot all the way on her new scooter without panicking with traffic. We had rented apartment no. 4 on the ground level looking toward the outdoor pool in the garden and toward the Alps with a bedroom separated by sliding doors and a pull-out sofa bed for our 3-year-old and a well-equipped kitchen. The apartment was modern with a typical Tyrolean charme to it, beautiful hardwood floors, the bathroom and kitchen equipped with high quality appliances. The bed was comfortable, even for me being 8 months pregnant (and usually being quite picky about mattresses). Breakfast could be taken in the quaint "Stube" or we could order fresh rolls to have breakfast in our apartment or not at all, just as we wished. If you order breakfast in the "Stube" you will get home-made jams and the most delicious farm-made apple juice (we even took 20 liters to take home with us, it was so good!) with your continental breakfast. The hosts were nice and very helpful and gave us good tips to explore the area.
We're definitely planning to return to Sittnerhof. Our daughter literally cried this morning when I announced we had to pack to go back home.
Really the ONLY thing that was a bit awkward was that there was no soap in the bathroom, only after 3 days when we received the basket with fresh towels a little bar of soap was put in the basket with the towels. Not a problem, we just used our shower gel to wash our hands until then...

A beautiful quiet spot within easy walking distance of Merano

We spent 5 nights here in July 2012, and found it to be an excellent base. Although we had a rental car, we parked it outside and found no need to use it for the duration of our stay, as the Sittnerhof is less than 10 minutes walk from the main streets of Merano.
The Brunner family were very friendly hosts and speak good English. Plenty of advice and information on walks and trips for those needing that. We didn't wander too far and easily found our way around town by foot and also took the small chairlift up to the plateau above for a stroll around. All very pleasant and civilised.
Our room was on the top floor, larger than expected and spotless. We had a small balcony. No air conditioning but a very efficient and new fan in the room (contrary to earlier comments). WiFi signal varied in the room and in the breakfast area, but was strong and reliable in the pool area.
We used the pool every day. With the place having so few rooms and being generally quiet, we had the pool to ourselves most of the time. Not sure of the pool's water comes from the same mountain spring as their lovely tap water, but the water temperature was "refreshing"!
We found breakfast to be excellent, with the usual good variety you would expect in the Alps. Choice of breads, meats, cheeses. Sometimes an egg. Plenty of cereal, yoghurt and other healthy stuff.
All in all, a very relaxing, comfortable and good value-for-money stay. Would definitely return.

Quiet setting with attentive hosts

We stayed at the Agriturismo Sittnerhof for one week this June and cannot recommend it enough! Once we figured out how to pay the deposit from the USA (they don't take credit cards or checks, so we had to do a bank wire - no problem after all) all went smoothly. We stayed in an apartment and ordered breakfast each morning in the communal "Stube". The apartment was rustic but very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was modern and featured a skylight. The bed was comfortable, and the living area opened out onto a private patio right near the pool. The kitchen had all silverware and utensils necessary to fix simple meals. Our hosts, the Brunner family, were very friendly and helpful. Mrs. Brunner speaks excellent English and was able to give us many tips on sightseeing and getting around (we took public transportation). Mr. Brunner, a working farmer, their daughter and parents can also be seen helping with all aspects of this family run operation. We felt right at home!
The breakfast each morning was excellent! From the homemade jams and juices, to the fresh bread/rolls, eggs and excellent coffee to a daily cake or Strudel, all were incredible! It is definitely worth ordering the breakfast - not only for the food, but also to meet some of the other guests (mostly German) who you are likely not to see for the rest of the day. Also, the "Stube" itsself is worth spending some time in as the building dates back to the 1300's.
The location of the B&B is also great - away from the hustle and bustle of town but easily reached via a 15 minute stroll. Right behind the B&B is a steep slope with vineyards. Above that is the 3 mile long "Tappeinerweg", a beautiful walking path with exotic and mediterranean plants and beautiful views of the area. I ran on this path each morning - stunning!
The pool offers a chance to cool off after a long day of sightseeing.
I highly recommend this place and we plan to return.
