The room is luxurious for the price.

I found this place when I was looking for a place to stay near Nagaoka Tenjin and Nishiyama Tennozan stations because I have friends there. Apparently it was renovated last year, so there were few reviews, but I had a comfortable night's stay. It's about a 3-minute walk from the Suntory Kyoto Factory. There is also a storehouse bar that requires reservations. The surrounding area is a residential area, so it's a hidden gem. It's a Japanese-Western style room, with a twin room and a Japanese-style room with a sunken kotatsu, so you can relax there. I recommend it. For breakfast, there is a bakery called Nishiyama Koppedo, which is about a 2-3 minute walk away, and it was delicious.

A Great Find to Explore Kyoto!

You will not find better service anywhere. Sonoe & Hiro provided our family with a most delightful stay at their charming Inn. The combination of a beautiful small town adjacent to Kyoto, nearby access to rail directly into Kyoto, superb grounds and rooms made for a very nice stay. Perhaps best of all, Sonoe & Hiro were so very helpful in orienting our family to Kyoto, and helped us to explain where (and how) to get to places easily. Two thumbs way up!

Great place to stay!

This guest house is a fantastic place to stay! It was actually our favorite place we stayed at during our 4 week stay in Japan. It is run by a Japanese couple and they are great! The guest house is in a nice location, just far enough away from Kyoto proper to be quiet and relaxing. Nagaokakyo is a nice little city to relax and unwind from the major city. The owners were very helpful and told us points of interest and approximately how much could be covered in a day. Out of all the places we stayed, this place by far had the best customer service. I cannot stress this point enough, the owners were absolutely wonderful and fun people to talk with! The breakfast was delicious and traditional. The bar/lounge is classy and a nice place to relax. The guest house is extremely clean and cutely decorated. There is also a laundry room! That was a life saver for us.
If you are looking for a place to stay that is in between Kyoto and Kobe, this place is ideal in my opinion. I actually did not realize this and regret getting a hotel in Kobe because I liked this place so much. It is about 45 minutes train ride away from Kobe Station and less than 30 to Kyoto Station. I highly recommend this place to stay! I know I'll be staying at the Kyoto Guest Inn Nagaokakyo when I go back to Kyoto!

Perfect!

Stayed for 2 nights earlier in October. Rooms were clean, spacious and we were made to feel very welcome. Very traditional house but with lots of modern twists. The owners were extremely helpful and went over and above to help us plan our days there. The private onsen was a lovely touch and we spent a very relaxing time in it! Laundry room available which was a real bonus to get some clothes washed after living 6 days out of a suitcase!

只住了一天，性价比很高，空间很大。同样价格在京都得小一半，非常舒服的房间。
交通还算方便，车站附近。就是周边有一些冷清。
