Ryokan with Airport Transfer
We stayed at an inn with airport transfers for 3 consecutive nights, including breakfast and dinner. It is an inn founded over 120 years ago, and although the building itself is aging, it has been renovated here and there. There is no elevator, so you can climb your own luggage by lifting the stairs yourself. There is a public bath and sauna on the 1st floor and you can enter both morning and night. Meals are also mainly Japanese and fish, and you can enjoy a lot of different things for each meal. From the room I could see a clear flowing river and was healed. There is a bus stop in front of you that goes to Shiratani Unsuikyo, etc., which is very convenient, but be careful as there are very few buses. If you cancel your cleaning, you will receive one service of water. There is a small kiosk where you can rent climbing equipment and arrange lunch boxes.

This was a very nice place to stay in Miyanoura. The breakfast and dinner service was unexpected. Both were interesting and satisfying. The steam bath was excellent after a day of hiking. The staff here were very nice and helpful.

Convenient Location but Spartan Conditions
My family and I stayed here for our first visit to Yakushima. As it was the middle of February, the facility had an off-season vibe and felt partially deserted. We enjoyed our stay, but the aging infrastructure and somewhat spartan conditions didn't lend themselves to comfortable accommodations. We may explore other options on the island when we visit next time.

The location was good and the Japanese style room was large, futons were comfortable. The breakfast and dinner were elaborate - lots of small Japanese dishes, everything delicious.

The best experience I’ve had at a hotel in Japan. I have a halal diet and the staff were able to cater for this in the half-board meals provided. The staff in the cafeteria were great and I felt like I had a lovely experience being fussed over (they treated everyone kindly). The front desk staff were great and spoke good English. There is a free shuttle service to the airport but you have to let them know in advance when your flight is (if you’re arriving, notify them by email as they don’t respond to messages made through hotels.com). The hotel is also next to an important bus stop that takes you direct to Shiratani Unsuiko and also takes you to the place you have to make a transfer for Yakusugi land. I also loved my tatami room which had a spacious bathroom.
