Cozy and comfortable stay near Mount Fuji
Kinoya Hostel was a great find for our trip to the Fuji area. The location is convenient and peaceful, with beautiful views of the mountains from some of the rooms. It is about 42 km from Shuzenji Temple and not too far from Shimizu Station, which made it easy for us to explore the region.
The hostel itself is clean, modern, and very well maintained. Our room was simple but cozy, with fresh linens and towels provided. The shared bathrooms were spotless and had everything we needed, including a hairdryer and hot showers. Free WiFi worked perfectly throughout our stay.
One of our favorite parts was the lovely outdoor terrace and garden where we could relax after a day of sightseeing. The common lounge area was also great for meeting other travelers and planning out the next day.
The staff was kind and helpful, and we appreciated the peaceful, allergy-free environment. It really felt like a calm retreat close to nature.
As a couple, we really enjoyed the quiet location and the atmosphere. It's a perfect base for visiting the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park and other local sights. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a simple, welcoming place to stay near Mount Fuji.

Room is clean, love the private onsen although you have to book a time. This means that you will have to wait for your time to shower. Not a problem for us though. There is free tea and coffee in the common area which looks very comfortable.
2 things to note 1. Walls are a bit thin and 2. If you arrive late and there’s no more parking, the nearby parking overnight is quite pricy, jpy800. Don’t park the one right beside, it’s even more expensive. Ask the owner where to park.
