Easy access to Kyoto without transfer! Apa Hotel in front of JR Seta Station convenient for sightseeing to Lake Biwa, Kyoto and Hikone
I traveled to Korea and Japan alone, and on the third night of my itinerary arriving in Japan from Busan, Korea, I stayed overnight at Apa Hotel .
APA Hotel is a business hotel of the APA Group, located one minute on foot from Seta Station on the JR Tokaido Main Line (Biwako Line) and facing the south exit rotary.
On the day of our stay, after entering the country from Kansai Airport, we took about two and a half hours to travel to Seta by local train, so we arrived at the hotel after 4pm. I made my reservation in advance from a certain hotel reservation site and paid the room charge at the time of booking, so I could check in smoothly by simply presenting my APA card. A chandelier hanging from the ceiling of the front desk creates a luxurious feel.
This time I booked a single non-smoking room with a double-size bed. The single room for one person is not very large (about 10m2), but it didn't feel cramped. The interior was designed in black and white with strange curved patterns on the walls. Rooms are well-cleaned and clean. It was unfortunate that the windows in the room were fixed and could not be opened, and that the frosted glass could not see out the window.
Refrigerators, electric kettles, and other equipment were compacted around the desk, while hair dryers and yukatas were stored in desk drawers. Complimentary bottle of water and stick type coffee and green tea are provided in the rooms. The bathroom was equipped with shampoo, conditioner and body soap in a large bottle, and there were plenty of bathroom amenities such as toothbrush, razor, comb, swab and shower cap.
Free Wi-Fi is available in the rooms. The fast and stable connection made watching videos stress-free. In addition to the usual power sockets, the bed headboard also had a USB port that was useful for charging mobile phones and tablets.
Restaurants and convenience stores are scattered around the hotel, and Al Plaza Seta, which houses supermarkets and fast food restaurants, is about a 5-minute walk from the hotel, making it convenient for dining and shopping. Also, although only local trains stop at Seta Station, it is possible to access Otsu Station in about 10 minutes and Kyoto Station in about 20 minutes without changing trains, making it a good location for Lake Biwa sightseeing and Kyoto sightseeing.
I visited Shiga for the first time, but I was disappointed that I couldn't take the time to see Lake Biwa because I moved to Hamamatsu, my next accommodation, soon after I checked out.

Breakfast was plentiful and varied so suit all tastes. Staff were friendly and helpful. Toiletries given and good quality. Clean md perfect location near the station.

It's a bit of a grade Apa.
This is an Apa hotel in front of Seta Station, and it is a rebranded version of Seta Urban Hotel. The rooms are also spacious and beautifully renovated. There is also a cashless laundromat, microwave and ice machine. The bathtub was also egg-shaped or higher grade than the regular apa, but at a reasonable price.
What you won't be able to accept is a parking lot, which is a system where you go to the front desk and park there with the number of the affiliated parking lot (Kayano Shrine multi-level parking lot), but if you stop in front of the hotel and follow the directions that are given, you have to turn right at the intersection in front of the hotel with no traffic lights. In the evening it was crowded with cars picking us up at the station and we couldn't turn right, so we took a left and ran for a while to get there. I thought if I was going to stop, I'd better head directly to the parking lot, either in front of Triki across the street or by phone.

Enjoyed small friendly restaurants around the hotel. You can go to Kyoto using public transportation easily.
