Renewal open
The most notable features are the addition of an open-air bath to the guest room and large communal bath, as well as the renovation of the entrance and dining area.
There is a large round window at the entrance, so you can see the proud garden even before entering the lobby.
The corridors leading to each guest room have also been repainted a beautiful vermilion color, further enhancing the garden.
I stayed at the newly renovated "Katsura". It has been completely renovated from two 12.5 tatami mat Japanese-style rooms to a spacious one-room Japanese-Western room. It has also been made barrier-free, making it easy for elderly people to use, and is said to be the most popular room. In addition, the walls, tatami mats, and sashes of "Ayame" and "Wakakusa", which are connected to "Katsura", have also been completely renovated.
The newly installed open-air bath is also wonderful. You can now enjoy the hot springs in a relaxed atmosphere surrounded by greenery and autumn leaves.
In addition, the sashes of the detached buildings "Fuji" and "Hagi" have been replaced with alpine sashes, improving insulation and making it more comfortable to stay in.

Very beautiful and in a very quiet, relaxing location!
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to use the hot springs and relax as much as I would have liked but some day I hope to return to enjoy the Inn more.

河豚漁発祥の地の温泉
湯野温泉随一の老舗旅館で4千坪の敷地に本館、別邸と呼ばれる離れ形式の客室棟、離れ、蘭石亭および温泉棟が建っている。
鯉や鴨が泳ぐ池のある見事な日本庭園に掛かる渡り廊下を歩いてそれぞれの客室を向かう趣のある旅館だ。
今回は蘭石亭に宿泊。京都の宮大工を招聘して建てられたこの棟は銘木がふんだんに使われていて、築後相当な年月が経っているにも関わらず威風堂々としている。
広々とした玄関、７．５畳の控えの間に１２畳の和室、そして５０インチのTVが置かれた応接間を兼ねる広縁、浴室は檜風呂で温泉を楽しむことが出来る。湯野温泉はすべすべの温泉で人気が高い。空調について音が大きいとの書き込みもあるが蘭石亭は天井の左右両端が格子状になっていてそこに吹き出し口があるという凝った作りで音も静か、広縁にも専用の空調装置を備えており快適に過ごすことが出来る。
別棟になっている大浴場は客室数に比べかなり広く大きな窓から外を見ることが出来て露天風呂はないが十分満足できる。広い浴槽は３つに分けられていて、ジャグジー、ジェットバスが設けられている。洗い場も７つあって全く混雑感なくゆっくり温泉を楽しむ事が出来る。
今回夕食はフグのフルコースを注文。前菜に始まり、河豚刺し、白子、茶碗蒸し、フグの変り焼き、唐揚げ、ふぐちり、そして最後の締めは雑炊が出てくる。どの料理もたっぷりの量で満足できるし、嬉しいことにヒレ酒もコースに含まれている。
朝食は玄関横のレストランで和定食。シンプルだがなかなか美味しい。
良質の温泉に、美味しい食事、フレンドリーなスタッフの対応で非常に好感度の持てる名旅館だ。

湯がいい！多分（笑）
お風呂場まで外を歩くんだけど、池？があったり中庭がとても素敵です♪
設備は古いけど、泉質は良さそう。
私は鈍感なのでわからなかったけど、同行者が『風呂場内に源泉が出る蛇口があってそこの湯が一番成分が濃い』とのこと！
いったん出たのにまた風呂に戻る私（笑）
たしかに蛇口の源泉はヌルヌルしてます。
2階に無料休憩所があるのでゆっくりできます。でも休憩してる人は誰もいないw
脱衣所はカゴしかないのでフロントで貴重品を預けます。
シャンプー、リンス、ボディソープ、体重計、扇風機、ドライヤー、綿棒、ティッシュ完備。
