Septic & toxic

Very unprofessional, unprofessional inviting, rude demeanor staff. Dirty reception, dirty comman areas, dirt rooms, septic tank for a guest pool.

Disreputable, Horrible & Traumatic - the owner was so rude!

I clearly state that this hostel is in disrepute. I booked on booking.com to stay in a dorm, when I got there Monré & they refused me accommodation because I accidentally booked a female dorm instead of male dorm, they refused me the male dorm because of my luggage. They cashed out the booking.com and now refuse to refund me. I had to struggle to find alter accommodation on NYE in CT. Disreputable, Horrible & Traumatic and the owner was so rude!

Terrible

I stayed there in October 2025, for a few nights.
The Manager, his name is Monroe, is a recovering methamphetamine (Tik), accused me of stealing a lighter banned me from staying there, the Tik has effected his capacity to reason.
He also has bad breath and false teeth that wobble when he speaks, he is a plonker! Beware!
Elsie, thank you for always been so professional, send Monroe back to rehab, he needs it.

Big Blue Backpackers -Elegance at a good price.

We return to a room with good memories and great floors. We have a nice sunny window in an old converted mansion in the Green Point section of Cape Town. The staircases, chandeliers, red hallways, original etched stained glass, a swimming pool, pool table, bar, self-catering kitchen and fabulous, central location make the Big Blue a fun place to stay.
