Good place to stay

The SUN1 in Midrand is a good place to stay. The room was clean on arrival and the check in was easier than expected. I had a peaceful stay there and would recommend it to others. I had no interruptions and issues in my time there and would recommend it to anyone.

The overall hotel is every good and have no complaints about the service however I made extra requests for my hotel room which and those requests were not met as a result my stay at the hotel was not pleasant and their incompetence to follow customer specifications was underwhelming.

During Load shedding here are no bedroom lights operational. The Ground floor window could not be left open as even though there was a security cable attached to the window and frame it could easily be un-clipped allowing it to open all the way open. Our Airconditioning unit would not work when we came into the room. The receptionist told us that they cannot give us another room as we had used the room!I had to demand she contact the Maintenance staff repair it or she should call the Manager. We where then given a room on the 1st floor (they did not want us to experience another Airconditioner unit not working). What a nonsense story! On departing I asked for the invoice to reflect the correct particulars and VAT number as required for business - Only the Manager could do this and he was off duty. He was supposed to do this when he came on duty. Nearly a month later we still wait.

Good value for money still

The good
Good safe location for parking , room enough for one or two nights clean
The bad
Quite noisy in the mornings from the hallways.
The ugly
Showing its age now few broken bits and a bit rough around the edges

Sun 1 Midrand

Not a good experience, plugs not working, bed extremely uncomfortable and definately will not recommend it to anybody. Opwn view Satelite not even activated. Rather spend a few rand more for better value for money.
