Good restaurant on the beach

Excellent restaurant on the beach of Garoda within a resort. The food is very good, friendly staff, pleasant both in the evening and during the day. The lobster au gratin with lemon is good, the samosas are well made, also the hamburger and the octopus are excellent.

Super recommended

I stayed at this hotel between December and January 2026. Surely it is a structure with the most beautiful sea of Watamu, as in front they form at low tide of the beautiful sand tongues. The beach is very beautiful, it is located on a hill and is very breezy. Very friendly and welcoming staff, very good restaurant food with large portions. The only flaw is the breakfast, really too poor and the fact that the restaurant closes at 9.25 pm. is a structure run by Italians, since we Italians always dine very late and we do calmly, does not return very well to go to dinner at 20 .. then it would be a little 'modernized structure. Then you can use the animation of the Garoda Bravo, added value and also the pool is very pretty. Very good cleaning gentlemen. Just for what I said previously I do not give 5 stars but 4, with the wish that they can improve even more. Overall we stayed divinely and I would go back to Kenya again choose the Gecko!! Super recommended

Horrendous service (matter of fact lack thereof)

I’ve only rated one star because you can’t rate zero. We called the place and made a reservation for 2:00 pm as walk-in guests, since we are locals and didn’t need accommodation. Only for us to arrive and have one of the waiters look at us in the most condescending, flabbergasted manner—almost as though he had seen an alien family from outer space—and not even offer us the possibility of a seat while he inquired from whoever he needed to.
Anyway, a second waiter swooped in and asked to see the number we had called to make the reservation, as they apparently have many establishments under one name. He then realized we had reserved a table at their beach bar section and directed us there.
We got to the reception before the beach bar, where the young gentleman was very pleasant and directed us onward. At the beach bar, we were seated at our reserved table by our waiter, only to be informed that the only items available to us from that side were snacks and drinks, as meals are only served at the restaurant side—the same side where we had been looked at like aliens.
We were hungry, so we requested whether we could order food from the restaurant and eat at the beach bar alongside our drinks. This was promptly and unceremoniously declined, with no attempt to even inquire with management or offer an alternative.
Anywho, I guess when you’re a local, your money isn’t desirable, eh?
Oh, and did I mention they made us park all the way at the far end of the gate right at the entrance, when there was a whole other parking closer to where our reservation actually was. Oh well, I guess they wanted to give our sunscreen a run for its money given the harsh rays of the sun at that particular time of day.

Disappointed

Huge disappointment.
If you live in Kenya, don't go much better alternativesd. No cozy, just mass tourism.
Food is a disaster.
No go value for the money. Very overprized
