Bon viveur at the Belvedere

Wow, the photos and descriptions of this hotel don’t do it justice in any way. Michelle, the owner, has built a hotel and a surrounding environment of great beauty and tranquility. From the moment we stepped into the hotel and its grounds, we felt welcomed and totally relaxed.
The rooms are large and immaculate. The grounds are magnificent, manicured and packed with a wide variety of planting that combine to give a vibrant visual representation of the best of Costa Rican vegetation.
The hotel is planned out around two main buildings, the main accommodation complex with a pool and gardens, and there is a separate accommodation block with a pool surrounded by landscaped gardens twenty meters along a well-maintained road. We stayed in this block in room 18, on the ground floor, which has direct access to the pool.
The room was immaculate, the staff were friendly, uber-efficient, attentive, and helpful, which combined with the delights of Samara, made this the perfect location for us during our stay.

Wonderful relaxing hotel and great value.

Beautiful hotel with lush tropical gardens that give the feeling of being in a peaceful oasis. The hotel is peaceful and has a very chilled atmosphere with friendly and helpful staff. It's a short walk from the beach (less than 10 mins) and the hotel provides free use of their beach umbrellas, chairs and beach towels for guests, which is a nice bonus. It is also only a few minutes to walk to good restaurants and a supermarket. The breakfast buffet it delicious and has everything you could wish for. My room was spacious, clean, had good AC, great shower, and a comfortable bed and at night it is very quiet. I think the hotel is great value for money so much so, that I booked for 8 nights originally and extended to stay 12 nights in total. Very happy that I found this hotel and would recommend it if you want a peaceful and relaxing stay in beautiful surroundings.

What a great hotel!

During my last stay in Playa Sámara, Guanacaste, I had the opportunity to stay at the Belvedere Hotel, a charming boutique hotel that offers a different experience from traditional beach accommodations.
From the moment of arrival, the feeling is one of being immersed in the mountains, surrounded by nature and tranquility, but without giving up the comforts of a high-quality hotel. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and carefully decorated, creating a cozy and relaxing atmosphere.
The hotel has two pools, one located at the top of the property and another at the bottom, both perfectly integrated into the natural surroundings. Each space invites relaxation and disconnection.
More than just a simple place to stay, the Belvedere Hotel offers an experience of relaxation and contact with nature, ideal for those seeking peace, comfort, and an exclusive environment near Playa Sámara.

Pool was great with plenty of places to relax. The property was beautiful and well kept. The lady that received us was very friendly and informative. They also have chairs and umbrellas that they allow people to take to the beach. The room was beautiful but the bathroom area had a smell of urine for some reason. The other downside was that the lady working when we arrived said the breakfast was $8 American dollars each, but we were charged 8000 colons by the man who was there at checkout. When I told him it was supposed to be $8 he insisted that I was wrong. I showed him that it said $10 on the Expedia site and told him the woman had said $8, but he said that was an old price from 10 years ago. I paid and left frustrated and somewhat upset.

Pleasant stay

Good family run hotel with beautiful gardens, well equipped rooms, comfortable beds and good breakfast.
Samara beach is within walking distance.
Unfortunately, the noise pollution from the adjacent roads is sometimes enormous.
