While heading to Drake Bay

Hotel is humble and safe. Wanted to rest for the night and enjoyed a quiet riverside stay.
Owner and son present. Very accommodating.

Great location and starting point for exploring the Sierpe River and Corcovado

I arrived in Sierpe around 12:00 pm. Hotel Oleaje is at the end of town and is home to Restaurant La Perla del Sur. I saw all the boats and signs for River Tours and trips to Corcovado. I had no plans and was looking for an adventure. I checked in with Don Jorge. He provided 5 star service and set up an itinerary. I was checked in to a very nice clean room with AC and confortable beds. I had a quick lunch at La Perla del Sur. Well prepared Typical food in a beautiful setting. Hopped on a boat for a solo tour up River with a very sociable captain and a terrific guide, Raby. The next day Don Jorge set me up for a boat trip and guided hiking in Corcovado. We saw abundant wildlife on the boat tour and in the park, highlighted by seeing 2 pumas. I can not imagine an easier and more relaxed jumping off point to one of the most beautiful spots in Costa Rica.

Feel I need to weigh in

I have personally stayed in this hotel many times and put many of my guests and family members here. While not fancy,it is a nice clean place with charm and an excellent location.
I took offense at another review stating that the locals stared at them and they spent the reminder of the evening 'hunkered down'fearing for their safety.
Sierpe is one of the safest towns in all of Costa Rica and the locals ( who may have a couple beers after working hard all day making sure the tourists are safe and fully enjoying themselves) are far from dangerous. These are fun loving good people.
Sierpe Is a quaint, safe little river town with several nice riverfront cafes, bakery and most everything you need.
There are no 'neighboring towns' that rival Sierpe.

Gate to Sierpe

Me and my husband stayed in this place for 2 nights. Our expectations were not very high but I have to say this place exceeded our expectations.
Room was spacious with many beds enough to fit basketball team ;) but room was clean and beds-linens-pillow comfortable. Wifi was there, quite good and all the time.
Restaurant was straight next to the hotel, offering good variety of food.
Of cource this place is not modern 5-star hotel but it fits very well into environment.

Great Location, Warm Staff, Clean and Safe Hotel

Vicinity to all of Osa Peninsula’s best tours: Excellent (steps away!) Others drove for hours to catch the same tours that my family walked to every morning.
Friendliness of the Staff: Excellent. The owner was so approachable and took care of us like we were family. The waitress at the restaurant made us want to come back for every meal. The cleaning crew were so helpful and accommodating.
Meals: Very good. Breakfast was included and served to us in courses whenever we showed up to eat! For dinner, the fried fish and the ceviche were amazing. We ate right there on the river which was very peaceful.
Rooms: Very good. Clean and safe and good air conditioning. 1st night we were so tired, we left the key on the outside of the door all night and no one bothered us! There was a bed for each one of us in the room and even one for all our stuff! There was T.V. and a small table but not much else in the room. Clean and simple and functional.
Bathrooms/shower: Average. The bathrooms and shower were clean but small and the shower didn’t drain very well but other than that the shower worked well and had a little window on top to let in fresh air which was nice.
