​SCAM ALERT: Professional Misconduct and "Bait and Switch" Tactics

​"Avoid this Riad at all costs! They are scammers who practice 'Bait and Switch' tactics. We had a confirmed reservation, but upon arrival (or last minute), they cancelled us claiming 'overbooking' just to pressure us into relocating to an inferior, low-quality property they also manage.
​This is a clear scam to lure customers with nice photos of Riad Noujoum Medina and then dump them in substandard rooms. Their lack of professionalism is appalling. They don't care if you are stranded on the street.
​Thankfully, Booking.com intervened, but the distress and time lost during our vacation were immense. Do not trust their availability or their excuses. This place is a trap for tourists. Look elsewhere if you want to actually have a place to sleep in Fes

Questionable honesty. Be careful before booking.

When we arrived to the property on the day we had booked, they told us that they had no room and that they would help us book in another hotel. It was early evening and we were going to spend only 2 nights in this hotel, leaving us no options but accept, or risk of sleeping on the street. They made us request a cancellation of the reservation on Booking, which they approved, and they booked us in another hotel for the same price. The other hotel was nowhere near the same level of the hotel that we booked and they only accepted payment in cash. We had the strong feeling they were trying to swindle us, since they were asking us to request the cancellation on Booking right away, as soon as we arrived. We only accepted the change of hotel after contacting Booking directly to ensure that they would not charge us the fee for last minute cancellation. The property may be nice but they were incompetent and did not honor our reservation.

A Cheaters Place

This place is a total con riad. It should not get any stars and should not be listed on any media.
We had a confirmed reservation for 3 nights. However, when we arrived they immediately said that they have double bookings and the room is not available. They didn't even apologize and when we complained and insisted to have a room they became rude and treated us as if it is our fault and they are trying to help us. They were pushing us to get a room in another place of their choice that was not even listed. We ended up dragging our luggage (they didn't even offer to help) and got stranded in the street with lots of street people trying to lure us to other places. It was a horrible and terryfing experience in a town that was unfamiliar to us.
We ended up taking a taxi and searching for another decent place that had availability.
We plan on reporting them to the police.

CANCEL when you arrive!!

I had a terrible experience. They forced me to cancel my booking because they were full. After 20 minutes of leaving me waiting at the Riyadh I was informed that they had no room. For fear of being charged the same as No Show, I agreed. Because they offered to help me get another option, only if I canceled earlier. It was very stressful, I travel alone and I felt cornered. Not speaking the language and having a bag, it is not easy to walk through the Medina. They didn't apologize and not a glass of water was offered. Clearly some larger booking and not from a passenger suited them, but until the day before I was writing to coordinate my arrival.

Total disappointment

Very disappointing. As several others mention, we too were made to cancel the booking on booking and pay cash. We found it shady. Room very small and very damp, I had big allergy problems in the room so I suspect the presence of mold. We had room 5, very small, not representative of the photos. The "private" bathroom was not even in the room it was across the hall in the laundry room. Finally, the employee Youcef charged us enough for an excursion to Meknes on a Friday when everything was closed on Friday and there was nothing to see. We were very badly advised and are therefore even more dissatisfied. Positive side, great location and very good lunch.
