Great week at the Westin Resort & Spa in Cancun
We had a great week at the Westin Resort & Spa in Cancun. The hotel, staff, breakfast buffet, restaurants, spa and the pools were great overall. Super helpful and nice hotel staff, always happy to help.
Guest experience manager Rafael Valdez was exceptionally sweet and nice. He always said hello with a smile every time he saw us and made sure we’re having a great time.
All the servers at the buffet/restaurants were great. Boy they work hard in that hot and humid Cancun weather with such nice attitude! We enjoyed our stay very much.

Quality and service exceeds the reasonable price!
Not to be confused with Lagunamar, the Westin Resort sits at the beginning of the hotel zone. At check-in, Ivan was very pleasant, thanked me for ny loyalty, and assigned us a room with a lagoon view. At the price point, I was pleased. The room isn't as luxurious as the vacation club tower, but was very clean (daily housekeeping), had a balcony, the room was and the bathroom was adequate.
This section of the hotel zone has less sargassum but a narrow beach. There's a bus stop close to the property as well as an OXXO market for snacks.
Used the gas grills 1 evening and while there was some confusion about who would turn the gas line on, Ariel (maintenance) rushed out, apologized and saved the day.

Steps from the beach with a huge pool

Very good service.
We stayed for only one night. The rooms are very comfortable and have everything necessary. The breakfast is very good and the staff provides excellent service. The hotel is old but is very well maintained. Everything looks very well cared for. It is close to the airport and to restaurants and malls, but you have to take an Uber. That day the beach had a lot of sargassum.
