Three nights in February

We were at the hotel, room 505, from 14 to 17.02, having flown from Bangkok. At the airport, we ordered a taxi at the counter (18,300 kyat or about 6 dollars). To do this, we exchanged 20 dollars for 3000 kyats at the airport. A taxi back to the airport cost us 20,000.
However about the hotel. The furnishings in the room matched the photo. The room is spacious. The windows are frosted to block out the sun's rays. Gel, shampoo in small tubes, disposable toothbrushes with toothpaste, combs, three 0.5 liter bottles of water. Replenished daily. We didn’t need cleaning, they hung a “Do Not Disturb” sign, but there was always a bag of water and bathroom supplies waiting on the doorknob. There are slippers, but they are of the beach type, that is, all guests use them. I hope that after disinfection. We had our own. There is a paid minibar in the refrigerator. If you need boiling water, please tell the reception and they will bring you a thermos of hot water.
With a room rate of $29 per night, and including breakfast, it’s hard to expect the room to be in perfect condition. Therefore, be prepared for the fact that the faucet on the sink may not be securely fastened, and there will be no curtain in the shower. But the only real problem was the lack of water on the day of departure. The air conditioner did its job. The Internet was free, but only news was opened; it was impossible to receive and send photos.
Breakfast on the 8th floor from 7 to 9.30. Modest, but sufficient: fried rice, fried noodles of three types, local soup, fried eggs. True, all this is not always hot. Bananas and watermelon. Coffee from a three-in-one thermos. A little higher up there is an open terrace where you can sit in the evening with views of the Shwedagon in the distance.
We paid for the hotel in dollars (87), and the change from a hundred was also given in dollars. The exchange rate at the hotel is 3000 per dollar, regardless of denomination. For comparison, the Scott market is 3400-3500.
To the main attractions by taxi it costs from 3000 to 5000 kyat (1-1.5 dollars). Tickets to Shwedagon are 20 thousand per person, to Botakhtung Pagoda - 15 thousand kyats, to the National Museum - 10 thousand. In the evening there is nowhere to leave the hotel; one evening is enough to get acquainted with the local way of life and street food. The area, of course, is not pleasing to the eye.
The staff is very smiling, helpful and friendly. Thanks to him. To the right of the entrance, 50 meters away, is a small grocery store (beer, local alcohol, chips, etc.).
Bottom line: for this price you can easily spend two or three nights here.

Convenient for foodie

Convenient hotel if you are plan to explore yangon by foot. 10min walks you able to reach bogyoke Aung san market orsule pagoda. 19th street for foodie is less than 10min walk. Room condition although a bit old but overall is clean. Wardrobe too strong smell of moth ball that you wont want to keep your cloth in it.

No windows in single rooms

Nowhere on any booking site does it say that some rooms (ALL singles) do not have windows. The photos are very deceiving with the curtain. I arrived at 10pm after a heinous bus trip. I'd searched for a room with window forever, even sent them an email (with no reply) only to learn upon arrival that i'd have to spend 3 nights in a confinement box. At first they were completely uncooperative (probably for lack of E and initiative- after that staff was very nice and helpful). I tried to find another hotel, which at this hour was difficult. Only when I asked them (after about 40 min) what solution they would offer, they upgraded me to a (double) room with a window. Room was ok, quite run down. Outside is a night meat and early morning whole sale market, so extremely noisy. Breakfast (on a great roof top terrace) is very nice with (very good) soup, the usual noodles and rice, the usual watermelon/banana, rubber bread of course, varying Myanmar specialty/day, packaged cake. Seriously, they must mention that there are no windows in their room descriptions. Otherwise it's cheating.
