Wonderful performance "The Gunner" !

"Der Freischütz" at the Theater Cottbus is one of the best theatrical performances I have seen, an ingenious interplay of stage design, background, music, singing, acting, lighting - simply everything that belongs to a good play, and also the interplay of tradition and modernization absolutely successful!
Thanks to all the contributors for this really successful evening!

It's a wonderful hotel, everything very clean with a kettle and coffee and a very comfortable bed. Lovely!

Highly recommended

Room 205. After several years of not being in Cottbus, the quality of the Altstadthotel is still good. The room is very spacious and clean and has a beautiful view of the theatre and the Spremberger Turm. The hotel Wi-Fi is unfortunately weak. The breakfast room is very spacious and atmospheric. The breakfast buffet offers everything you need for a satisfying and varied breakfast, the breakfast price is also very cheap. The kitchen staff and the hotel owners at reception are all extremely friendly, I always feel right at home. The location of the hotel between the main train station and the old town is optimal, as is the value for money. My conclusion: always again!

Unique, old hotel. Friendly staff, great location. Sehr gemütlich!

Last minute booking on our way home to the UK from Poland. NOT disappointed! Great location in a fabulous, friendly city, with heaps of culture and amazing architecture!
Convenient for both the railway station and the city centre, and literally just around the corner from the incredible Staatstheater, an early 20th century archetectural design masterpiece that is still ahead of its time...
Arriving at the hotel by car was easy; there was private car parking adjacent to the hotel, and check in was a pleasure. The lady manager was brilliant - I enjoyed practising my poor German language with her - "Sehr schöne Schuhe, liebe Frau!". She was so helpful in helping us to check in and showing us to our rooms, and very proud of Cottbus and its wonderful attractions. Thank you so much, Madam!
I recommend paying the extra for the breakfast here, as it is of superb quality, and served in the super-quaint restaurant at the corner of the building - a GREAT way to start the day!
Overall, a superb stay, with everything we needed on hand.
Also a wonderful city, with a great history and culture so, if you haven't been here before, make sure you do your research before you come and stay!

Friendly check in. Junior suite was absolutely gorgeous!! Huge bedroom/living room plus an extra small bedroom with 2 beds for the kids.
