Excellent hotel

We had a room for 4 people that lay far down the corner and up a small staircase. It was a lovely room. Nice and clean. Good beds. Great with air conditioning. It was quiet at night. We slept great. The bathroom a little small for 4 people. There are no channels on the TV. We were there during the World Cup in football and couldn’t watch football on TV. Otherwise we would have looked forward to that. Breakfast was a small selection. Very centrally located.

Have stayed twice. Cannot beat the location if you want to be in the heart of the Altstadt.

Great location from which to explore Heidelberg. The room was clean and the staff were warm and welcoming. Breakfast was very basic. I would return to this location the next time I visit Heidelberg.

The hotel is ideally located in the heart of old Heidelberg, and wonderful for enjoying the Christmas markets.

Very loud, otherwise ok

Those who like to party until 5 am are in good hands here. However, if you want to sleep, you should at least not move into a room on the street or side street. Our group of 10 colleagues knew that we were in the city centre on a pedestrian street, but not around this chaos. Every 10 seconds shouting, screaming, constant insults, urinating on the wall of the house... I have not found a single second (of course with the windows closed) of peace.
We found a mutually agreeable good solution the next day. Thanks to the hotel management for that. Some of my colleagues have not had that luck...
I had to listen to a servant say: “You know it’s loud here.”
However, the night porter was the most aggressive after I expressed the desire for a new room (to the courtyard) at 3 a.m.
“What do you think, you are here in the city center of Heidelberg, a city of 45,000 students.” He was about to show me the bird...
To be clear: Yes, we knew we were downtown, and also that it could get loud. But windows that don't stop the noise in the slightest and an above disaster until 5 o'clock with subsequent street cleaning (shattered beer bottles, vomit...) we were SO unaware.
So: If you want to stay in this hotel you will find nice rooms and also a good breakfast. To sleep, however, rooms must be selected towards the backyard.
