Solid performance

We spent two nights here when visiting the AA/Bad Kissingen.
The house is, well, German and very old-school.
Kitchen: very solid German home cooking with nothing to complain about at very reasonable prices. For this alone it is worth leaving the motorway instead of "enjoying" overpriced junk food at the service station.
Breakfast... OK, could be improved but still OK for a stopover. It could be a lot better.
The tiny bathrooms in the rooms take some getting used to. If you want to buy a caravan/mobile home, you can test out how you cope with a mini bathroom here.
Service was very friendly throughout.

Always my pleasure

I have often stayed at the Gasthof Kessler on my way from Switzerland to northern Germany. Always alone with my dog. Located close to the A7, it always feels a bit like coming home. The welcome is warm, dogs are welcome and the food is very good and inexpensive. Some rooms had hard mattresses, which were supplemented with a topper. Highly recommended

Close to autobahn.

Good place to stay night when travelling autobahn. Its about 2 minutes drive to autobahn.
4 person family room its big and there is large balcony also.
Room smells little bit cleaning, like chlorine.
Breakfast was good and staff service was good also

Great location

Perfectly located close to Autobahn, great place for staying the night when you make your way through Germany. Friendly and helpful staff, spacious rooms, very clean. Breakfast ok, Would have loved some fresh fruit but apart from that, everything you need. We are a family of five so had to book two rooms - one of them (#53) unfortunately had a very bad smell (either water damage or from some drain issues). We arrived late with no staff available so we couldn’t change rooms (so we put the kids in there, clever huh?:-)) but the other room we had was perfect.

Feels like home

I was five when I slept her first time, thats some years ago...
45 years later I still coming back, now with my own familly. I think that says it all
