Wet floor

Nice hotel, friendly people, good food, nice room. Only downside bit was that it was hot, and in the shower, even with the door closed, water could still run under it, so the bathroom itself was also wet sometimes

Relatively inexpensive short stay

According to many online sources, the hotels of the Fletcher chain are often located in historic buildings. In Leiden, however, we found the type that I had mostly encountered during my long stay in France. Relatively simple rooms with a television and coffee machine, no wardrobe for clothes but only a small, open niche with a clothes hanger, in short,
relatively inexpensive compared to other hotel chains, but actually only suitable for a few nights if you want to explore the city and area and do not wish to stay in the room longer.
Although our rooms faced the train station, we did not hear any noise from there, good sound insulation (but only with closed windows).
It is unfortunate that the pool can only be used free of charge by hotel guests for a short period in the morning.
Room cleaning:
On the second day, we used the door hanger 'Please do not disturb' during breakfast. Upon returning from there, we found a bag hanging on the door, presumably with towels. For the city tour, we turned the hanger around so that the activities in the room (changing towels, emptying the trash can, replenishing coffee capsules, tea, sugar, and milk, etc.) could take place. However, nothing had changed by the evening. During our stay, we noticed that this also happened in other rooms over the three days. We have never experienced this irregularity in our many years of traveling; usually, the room service would at least make a second round, which should be particularly noted in a four-star hotel. I mentioned this at checkout.

Avoid this "hotel"

We booked the Fletcher Wellness Hotel Leiden based on location and their spa. It is located beside the train station. We proceeded to the 12 floor reception and we were given our room assignment. As we exited the 9th floor elevator, we notice a large area where physio therapy was being done, followed by a meeting room, followed by an assortment of walkers, wheelchairs and scooters outside our room. We entered our room through the 4 foot door. The bathroom was designed for people with mobility issues. We looked for the mini fridge to put our water and snacks in only to find out, the room did not have a mini fridge. Nor did the room have temperature control. The air conditioning was not on and the room was quite stagnant. I approached the reception to question the use of this hotel (which I believe was on floors 9-12). This "hotel" felt like a hospital/convalescent recovery centre. People were being transported around by wheelchairs. The pool/spa is "Nude swimming" after 9:30pm. We paid a lot of money for this "hotel". Upon re-entry later in the evening, we were not able to get into the "hotel" by scanning our room cards. Nor were other guests able to open the door by scanning their cards. We waited until someone left the building to gain entry. I have written to the manager and over a week has passed without a response. AVOID this hotel at all cost. There are other hotels nearby where you can stay without being in a hospital environment.
NOTE: I didn't include the photo of the physio therapy room as it was being used by patients.

Nudist Spa beware if not used to both sex open nudity

Read the small print, very underhand.
This is a nudist place and pool is separate from hotel.
Pool only available free breakfast hours
No early check in given
No water, no shampoo, very basic
Terrible bed little support
Good location to travel
Great town to visit.
