Ideal base for walking in São Miguel, Azores

Amazing hostel! Sea view, good terrace to spend an afternoon in the pool, reading, or living with other travellers. Super helpful staff and sjmpatico. Well pertinho has a delicious natural sea pool! I'll be back!!

Great place with a chilled vibe

Great hostel, right on the edge of the ocean.
This was a return visit for me, I stayed here in the summer [August] and came back this winter.
It is exactly as a hostel should be, budget friendly, sociable and light hearted.
Both times I stayed in the women’s dorm which is clean and comfortable. You make your own bed which keeps the costs down.
Things I love about the hostel
• sunrise from the terrace
• meeting interesting people
• staff are helpful, kind and friendly who offer advice about the island
• comfortable beds with good head height
• curtains on the beds for privacy
• the rooms and shared spaces are cleaned daily
• free parking outside
• use of kitchen and fridge

Good Experience at hostel Azor Azul

Really nice hostel!
Amazing view from the terrace to the ocean.
Good Breakfast: Bread, cheese, ham, butter, jam, milk,cereals, coffe, tea,iogurts and cookies.

Amazing stay, pool and terrace were the highlights of the hostel

I had an amazing stay at this hostel. The atmosphere was super friendly, and I met some really cool people from all over the world. It felt like a perfect base to explore São Miguel, in the Azores.
The staff were helpful with tips and the location made it easy to discover the island’s beauty because you can park the car for free right in front.
There is a huge terrace on top and a pool that you can enjoy, also free breakfast for everyone that stays. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun, social, and comfortable place to stay in the Azores!

Unhelpful

Awful experience - I arrived in the middle of the night and went into the (all female) room I’d booked to find it full of men and the bed I was meant to be in had discarded underwear on and my locker had an apple core in. I called the reception (no staff on site) nobody answered. I emailed them and got a curt reply in the morning but have heard nothing since. Definitely would avoid especially if you’re a solo female traveler like me! I had such high hopes for here as well.
