Holidays with children
Super nice apartment hotel , with a beautiful view . Waren was with our children during the Easter holidays and despite bad weather we totally enjoyed it in the apartment. Ice bathing sauna , fitness center ... there are so many possibilities . by train outside the door we arrived . Excursions to Gmunden and Bad Ischl are a stone's throw . Great breakfast , good food . We'll definitely come back.

Beautiful holiday
We were from 14 to 16 October 2024 in the s Mitterndorf in the Traunkirchner district Mitterndorf on holiday. We booked a junior suite. The Appartement Hotel is newly renovated, the rooms are all very modern, very stylish with lots of wood, you feel right at home here. The Junior Suite offers plenty of space, the kitchenette has everything you need: Refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, microwave, coffee maker, hotplate, enough dishes and cutlery, kitchen storage, etc. In addition, the rooms have a two-part, spacious balcony.
The bathroom offers rain shower and a normal shower, bathtub, hairdryer, etc.
In the Junior Suites you sleep in wave-calmed waterbeds, the sleep in them was extremely pleasant and relaxing.
On the third floor there is a seminar room that we did not need. But the gym and especially the panoramic sauna. It consists of two saunas with panoramic views of Lake Traunsee and Lake Traunstein, such a spectacular view from a sauna I had nowhere else in the world, although I have travelled a lot and know a lot of the world. After the infusion you can relax on the sun loungers on the terrace, of course with a view of the Traunstein. It's as good as it gets. There are also two large sun terraces, one with a comfortable relaxation set.
Unfortunately, we could not get to know the restaurant Pauls located in the house, it just had company leave.
The ladies at the reception are extremely friendly, courteous, helpful and very nice.
Due to the weather, swimming in Lake Traunsee was no longer possible due to the season, we nevertheless looked at the hotel's own bathing area, which has its own access with a small cottage for changing and storing things, its own bathing jetty, comfortable loungers, shaded chestnut trees. In summer, it is certainly a perfect place to relax, unwind and of course for all Things to do in and by the water, even with your own pedal boat.
The hotel is located directly at Traunkirchen train station, from here many hiking trails go away, including to Traunkirchen. For hikers like us, the area is a dream, so many picturesque hiking trails - especially in autumn with the leafy discoloration - makes the hiker's heart beat faster. From Traunkirchen, a 10-minute drive away, the hike to the Calvary Mountain is a mega highlight, the picturesque views of Traunkirchen with the church, the town and the Traunsee, it could hardly get nicer and kitschy. We are not mountain bikers, but they also get their money's worth here.
We used the rainy weather on Tuesday morning to visit the Gmundner Keramik in Gmunden, a 10-minute drive away. During the one-hour guided tour we learned a lot about the production of the famous ceramic tableware. At the subsequent factory sale, you can save 30% on regular prices for the high-quality dishes.
We fully enjoyed the three days on holiday and have hiked a lot through beautiful forests and mountains with breathtaking views of Lake Traunsee, Traunstein, Traunkirchen and Schloss Ort. The wonderful landscapes, the good food and the particularly friendly people we met here, it was just wonderful. I'm sure we'll be back to Mitterndorf soon. I promise!

Family short break
The apartment hotel is located directly at Traunkirchen Train Station on the Salzkammergut Railway. The lake or bathing place can be reached on foot in 7min (500m). There is plenty of parking in front of the hotel (across the street). The interior is new and modern. Our apartment was equally as new. Basic kitchen utensils, refrigerator, coffee machine including capsules and dishwasher were available. Nice was the rear terrace, facing away from the lake but very quiet. Somewhat disturbing I found that the kitchen exhaust air was blown directly around the corner into the open (not a pleasant smell backdrop). The extra bed was okay for the children, as an adult I probably would not have been happy with it. Beautiful is the freely accessible roof terrace with views of Lake Traunsee and Traunstein. A sauna and fitness area are also available. Highlights include the private bathing area, which is equipped with sunbeds, parasols, a pedal boat and all kinds of swimming utensils. We had very pleasant hours here at the lake. Somewhat shameful was the condition of the sanitary facilities there (Dixi Klo). Breakfast can be had at Restaurant 's Paul, but we didn't make it. The lady at the reception gave us a friendly welcome. Overall a nice stay.

Culinary excellence
Very friendly service.
Very good breakfast buffet: sweet, sour...from apple strudel to salmon.
Very nice location with a view of the mountain panorama of the Salzkammergut.
We also really liked the ambience in the modernized house.
We will definitely be back

Excellent option in and around Traunkirchen
The hotel is perfect for its location. It is newly renovated and has all the latest amenities. It has been well maintained and is a very good place to stay in the area.
The provisions in the room - the kitchnette with all the necessary equipment, and a good coffee machine were all much appreciated. The rooms are cleaned well once a day. The rooms are well designed and convenient.
We travelled with family so the rooms were very convenient. There is a small bakery close by so you can get breakfast in the morning. The hotel has breakfast too, but it would be expensive to have that everyday. However, the breakfast spread was excellent and worth it to have at least once when you stay there.
There is a parking lot right opposite the hotel, making it very convenient. It is at no additional cost. The lake is a short walk down. They have one gated entrance specially for hotel guests. There are floats, paddle boats, deck chairs and other such provisions available there for use of the guests. This was also very convenient and useful.
Overall, would definitely recommend this hotel when around the Traunsee area. It is perfect, and well connected to other places that you might want to visit.
