The room was very clean, modern and well equipped. The staff were extremely helpful with their recommendations and the location in the old port was fantastic. Highly recommend!

Helena Hotel Chania Crete

Location was perfect as its in the old city, parking was close by and the hosts were fanastic. An awesome jazz bar just 50 meters away with Live music. Highly recommended.

If staying in the old town,this hotel couldn't be more central for beach, restaurants,cafes all on the doorstep.Georgios the proprietor was very helpful in recommending the best places to go and also organising airport collection.The actual hotel was very historical,but with all mod cons in the room.On the whole a fantastic stay

Friendly small hotel - some rooms have a view over harbour

The traditional hotel is set just behind the first row of buildings around the harbour which is probably a good thing as it makes it very quiet. The old town is a maze of twisty streets which all look very similar so it can be easier to walk there from the bus station the long way via Talos Square. Many of the narrow alleys in Chania near the harbour are attractive and interesting to walk around. There's a local jeweller where you can both buy products and talk and watch them making them.
I'd paid a little extra for a room with a view. The room was a reasonable size with a large wardrobe. The bathroom was small making the shower a bit cramped. The De'Longhi espresso machine in the room with supplied capsules and a fridge were both useful.
Staff were friendly, very helpful for local knowledge and spoke perfect English.
There's no lift.

Great find!!!

The Helena Hotel in Chania was totally awesome and we will book there again on our next trip. The room was clean and had a great view. The air conditioning worked very well which was not the case at the previous two hotels we stayed at. The location was great to access the Old Port and it was pretty close to the parking area (no cars allowed in the Old Port. That said, it was very quiet there all the time and we had our best sleeps there. George at the front desk was awesome and gave us great recommendations for restaurants and less common places to visit. It was a great find!
