Relaxing stay at Nireas Hotel.

We are coming to the end of a relaxing seven nights stay at the Nireas Hotel. We cannot fault the hotel and staff at all. The apartment has been great, swimming pool excellent and the manager and his team have been most accommodating and helpful. Everywhere is spotlessly clean. The Nireas hotel is in a great location, close to shops and restaurants and about a ten minute walk to a choice of great beaches.

Nireas Hotel – Disappointing standard and not as advertised

We stayed at the Nireas Hotel in Crete for two week this August.
Unfortunately, the standard of the accommodation did not match what we expected from the advertised 3T rating. There were a number of issues throughout our stay, both in our room and in the communal areas.
Our room had very limited storage, bedding that was visibly yellowing, rough and worn towels and a crack in the wall. There were also concerns regarding cleanliness, including stains and floors that did not appear to have been properly cleaned.
The communal areas also fell below the standard we expected. We observed bird faeces and debris in areas around the property, along with items that appeared to have been left or dumped in the parking area. The swimming pool had visible green algae, which was particularly disappointing.
Housekeeping and towel changes were also inconsistent, with visits taking place very early on some days. Overall, the standard of cleanliness and maintenance did not feel consistent with the rating or presentation of the hotel when we booked. We appreciate that individual experiences can vary, and this review is based solely on our experience during our two-week stay. Unfortunately, we would not choose to stay at the Nireas Hotel again based on the standard we experienced.

Quiet family run complex. Perfect for chilling out.

A quiet apartment complex off the main road and only minutes from bars, shops and restaurants. 10 minutes from the beaches of the area. The apartment was spotlessly clean and spacious, but can not be described as superior. Basic facilities. Everything we needed for a quiet, peaceful holiday. The pool was kept on excellent condition throughout our stay and we never struggled to get a sunbed.

Great location, clean hotel, friendly owner

We have just returned from a 10 night stay at the nireas hotel.
The hotel is off the main road up a slight hill which makes it mire peaceful bit may not be great for those with walking difficulties.
Our room was spacious and had everything that we needed- not that we spent much time in the room. The room was cleaned everyday except for Sunday and towels and bedding was changed every 2 days.
We were bed and breakfast and found there was plenty of choice at breakfast.
We did not use the pool as we prefer the beach but the pool was cleaned everyday and looked very inviting.
The owner of the hotel is very helpful and friendly.
The hotel is about 10-15 min walk from the beach where you can hire 2 sunbeds and an umbrella for 15 euro. The beach it sandy and the sea is lovely.
There is a bus stop just at the end of the road from the hotel with regular buses into chania. If you are getting the bus to chania (no 15 or 21) buy your tickets in the supermarket as it works out cheaper than buying on the bus- it’s only 1.30 euro each.
We also got the bus into Platanias for a change a couple of nights (you have to buy tickets on the bus)
Overall would recommend this hotel, there are restaurants nearby although there is a lack of places to have a drink but it’s a great location

Relaxing break

Nice area to walk around lots of restaurants and good food and service
hotel up a hill so need to be reasonably fit although very clean room had plastered walls not repainted bathroom was dark basic rooms not “superior” as described the apartments might be better gardens and pool are lovely
Staff were great and rooms cleaned well
Limited options for drinks and not the cheapest the local bus to old Chania is great and this is a lovely place to visit loads of shops and great restaurants local train does some good trips for a day out there are plenty of sandy bays to relax on too
