Spectacular!

My partner and I have just returned from an 11-night stay at La Signora Hotel, and it was absolutely spectacular. From the welcome drink on arrival to the complimentary water in our room, we were made to feel welcome from the very beginning.
We booked a Superior Sea View room, which was perfect for us – spacious, clean, modern, and with stunning views overlooking Lourdas. It’s worth mentioning that the bathroom door is glass, which leaves little to the imagination, but this wasn’t an issue for us and certainly wouldn’t stop us returning.
The pool area was lovely and peaceful, with plenty of sunbeds available, all of which, along with the pool area itself, were cleaned daily. Other reviews suggest that the noise from the road is very loud, but personally we didn’t experience this even in the midst of August. The atmosphere was always very relaxed with a quiet backdrop of music played throughout the day. There is also a lovely garden towards the back of the hotel which has hammocks and sun loungers for guests to enjoy. Although we didn’t use the garden, it was very well maintained and pretty to walk through. Every member of staff was friendly, attentive, and went out of their way to ensure guests were well looked after.
We ate at the hotel several times, and the food was delicious. We also attended the Greek night held every Sunday, which was so much fun! Each table receives a tambourine to join in with the music, and after a lovely traditional Greek buffet-style meal, it’s not long before everyone is up dancing together.
The hotel is situated in the lower to middle part of the hill, around a 7-minute walk from the main area of Lourdas. As a fit couple, this wasn’t a problem for us, and there are benches along the way for anyone who may need a rest. There’s also a supermarket halfway up the hill – perfect for stopping for an ice cream or a refreshing cold drink.
One thing we hadn’t read before travelling was that many restaurants in Lourdas require reservations, so on our first evening we struggled to find a table which was disappointing. However, once we realised this, we simply called restaurants when they opened around 6pm and always managed to book for that evening. Every restaurant we visited was excellent, and we didn’t have a single disappointing meal in 11 nights. From fresh seafood and Greek salads to delicious souvlaki and gyros, the food throughout our stay was outstanding.
We also hired a car prior to visiting through the hotel’s recommended company, Via Venetia, and the service was faultless. The car was delivered to and collected from the hotel seamlessly, and there is a large car park at the rear of the hotel.
We had read some reviews suggesting that breakfast was poor, but we completely disagree. There was a wide variety available every morning, including fresh Greek yoghurt and honey, pastries, fruit salad, melon, baklava, beans, sausage, eggs, cereals, coffee, and fresh juice, to name just a few options. Not to mention that breakfast is served between 7.30am and 10.30am, and the food was constantly refreshed. There are also tea and coffee-making facilities in the rooms.
Overall, we had a fantastic stay at La Signora Hotel and would highly recommend it. After waiting 11 months for this holiday and eagerly reading reviews beforehand, it was absolutely worth the wait and exceeded all of our expectations. Thank you to all of the staff that looked after us.

An Unforgettable Stay at La Signora Hotel.

We recently stayed at La Signora Hotel and it exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble, and their warmth and attentiveness made our whole stay feel effortless.
Our room was simply beautiful, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean, but the real highlight was the view. Waking up to the sea and mountains stretching out in front of us was breathtaking, and we found ourselves lingering on the balcony every morning just to take it in.
The location strikes a perfect balance peaceful and relaxing, while still close enough to explore the best of what Kefalonia has to offer. Every detail, from the thoughtful touches in the room to the genuine hospitality of the team, made this one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our week at La Signora, I can't remember ever staying in a more perfect place! The hotel is spotless, from the pool, meals on the terrace looking out to sea, the room and most of all the Staff who were exemplary. Thank you Nick and your team you have created a slice of Kefalonia paradise. We 100% recommend La Signora and can't wait to return.......... :-)

Amazing holiday

My wife and I have just had the most amazing 2 week break at La Signora Hotel , of which I would highly recommend. The hotel itself is well located, it is a couple of hundred meters up from the beach, this gives excellent views and the best of both worlds, with choices of heading down to the beach front , or head slightly up hill to the village tavernas which we did most evenings.
The hotel staff from the house keepers to the management are extremely professional, especially the restaurant and bar staff who are genuinely helpful and polite, especially Ethian ? and his colleagues who are excellent in their roles.
The hotel , from my experience, Greek accommodation can be quite basic, however always clean and sufficient. La Signora is the exception, everything about the hotel ouses quality and sophistication. All fixtures/fittings/decor are new and very good quality.
The breakfast options are very good , serving till 10:30 and the bar / restaurant meals are very good value and quality , so good the restaurant is popular with other guests from other hotels.
Evenings in the hotel are extremely relaxing, enjoying the views and listening to soft jazz music etc . A couple of evenings a week there is a traditional Greek night, we missed this , however we did stay for the Latin dance evening ( definitely not my usual choice ) How ever this was exceptional, total class with excellent music.
The hotel itself is small and friendly with a good cosmopolitan feel. I believe it suits couples, single travellers and small families , maybe not suitable for groups or people who want to party as the hotel and area finish around 11:00pm which suits us fine.
Finally, would we stay again? Absolutely, we love Kefalonia and La Signora.
Keep up the good work.

Friendly Kefalonia at it's best

We've recently returned from a 11 night stay at the La Signora Hotel where we stayed as a family of 3 being two adults and our 15yr old son. We chose the hotel following a recommendation from friends and how grateful are we to be introduced to such a fantastic place!!
From the first minute of arrival we were made very welcomed by all the staff, who were friendly, very helpful and so accommodating. The bar staff - Loukas, Kalli, Makis, Entri & Nick were particularly friendly and we enjoyed spending many a night talking and laughing with them at the bar. Michalis at the breakfast service is also worth a mention as being very friendly and helpful.
We were given a large room on the 2nd floor facing Mount Ainos which had a large terrace with a table/chairs and two loungers. The double bed was really comfortable, but our son did mention that the sofa bed he was on was a bit small (for a 15yr old). There was no noise during the night and the whole hotel was quiet allowing an undisturbed night's sleep. There was a small fridge in the room which was great for storing drinks and there was a large TV which had a few English news channels. Our son did mention he would have liked to be able to stream Netflix etc on the TV in his chill time which was not possible. The shower worked well and the provided bath robes were great to relax in after a shower.
The whole hotel is meticulously clean as was the daily cleaning of the room. Both the inside and outside areas are tastefully decorated and laid out, with quiet and private spaces if required. I do think though that more could be made of the rear garden area where the hammocks are located, which was a bit overgrown - we just happened to come across the area when going to the car park. The pool is ideal in size, warm and kept clean through daily teatime use of a robot cleaner.
We had a meal at the hotel probably around 4-5 times during our stay and always found the food to be delicious, plentiful and reasonable in price. The daily buffet breakfast was good however as most buffets a bit predicable. Perhaps an omelette station would be a nice addition?
The one thing that has to be mentioned though is that even though it is only around 500m it is a very steep hill down to the beach and particularly coming back !!
Overall a fantastic holiday to Kefalonia which no doubt was influenced by the quality and friendly way in which Venetia and the whole team at the La Signora made our stay so enjoyable. We'll definitely be back. Thanks
