Great Hotel in picturesque village Cicmany

Cicmany is a traditional Slovak village famous for its wooden houses. Kastiel Cicmany is the finest hotel in this village and one can have a great dinner experience with some traditional Slovak dishes and Slovak wines as well.
The rooms are spacious. The breakfast (a la Carte) just right to start the day. Staff spoke quite good English. The sitting area in the veranda and in the outer garden was very soothing.
The only minus is the lack of toiletteries (shampoo and body lotion) in the bathroom, which I hope they will consider to improve the already great service.

Never again this store

Booked a nice hotel (we thought), saw no one on arrival, everything was dead. There appears to be a key box from which you have to get the key. No reception, no bar, no restaurant, no breakfast. Nothing, you just rent a room without any further service!! Cold shower... just crappy TV does nothing, no channels. The remote control was last cleaned in 1980. The exhaust grille in the shower is so dirty and filthy... booking.com please remove this hotel (loft) from your site... 1 one word scandalous!!

Small town , nice hotel

Nice rooms in this quaint town where the black wood is accented by folk art painting originally designed to keep out insects.
Stairs to entrance veranda, and to rooms.
Breakfast was served from selection you chose on the menu. They soon noticed that we needed an English menu and brought it to us. More limited than other places we've had breakfast, but it served its purpose and the food was good.
We also ate dinner here on the evening of our arrival that was authentic Czech cuisine and very good.
Easy walk to town, although the museum wasn't open when we were in town.

Wonderful folkloric dinner with entertainment!

This is a review of the restaurant. We did not sleep here. As such, our Gate 1 Discovery Tour group of 22 drove out to this tiny village for a delightful folkloric dinner while listening to local musicians performing traditional music in traditional dress.
When we arrived, we were greeted outside by two women, and a man who played an accordion, who then escorted us inside.
Once in the dining room, our group was offered a bounteous buffet on tables groaning with traditional Slovakian food. Our choices included venison goulash, sausages, neck pork, smoked grilled cheese, salad, potato dumplings with bacon bits, assorted pastries and strudels. I am certain there were a few more items to taste, but I cannot recall all of them.
Each person was given a strong aperitif made from peach pits to stimulate our appetites. Bottles of red and white wine were shared between four people on the dining tables.
Throughout our meal, the musical trio entertained us with songs--very loudly--and with vigorous dancing. It was a wonderful evening, and the food was delicious!!

Family stay

We stayed for a weekend in this hotel. The hotel is situated in marvellous village with historic buildings. The wooden buildings are traditionally painted. There is also a museum in the centre of the village. Village is situated near Rajecke Teplice, which is a famous SPA city. Though, you can combine traditional Slovak life with a rest in SPAs. Hotel is refurbished and cozy. Food is affordable and delicious. On the other hand, the rooms are small but comfortable. Nice stay near a small ski resort. I recommend the stay also to families.
